Well how exactly would that help us? We'd have to play that game at some stage before the end of the competition anyway!

Yes exactly and Lille also have to play their games in the season as scheduled. Al that’s being done is that teams playing on Thursday can play their League game a day earlier or later. Their domestic games don’t just disappear.

Only the extra days rest for a depleted squad. Barring that nothing else...

Just been announced on SKY that if we get to the final, we get 9,000 tickets - it will be interesting to see what sales criteria will be for the final (if we get there)

9,000 from 32,500 capacity. 18,000 to clubs' fans, the remaining 14,500 seems excessive but no surprise for UEFA sponsors.

The capacity for the final is 27,100 and 21,000 tickets go to the two clubs, 9,000 distributed by each club and 1,500 each via the UEFA ballot. So the corporate/sponsor number will be 6,100 - of which you’d expect a lot to end up in the hands of Villa fans.

That's the same for the others as well though. Fiorentina have only won one of their ten matches by more than one goal for example. Fenerbache lost 6-1 to Nordsjælland.

2024 UEFA Europa Conference League final

The 2024 UEFA Europa Conference League final will be played at AEK Arena in Athens, Greece on Wednesday 29 May at 21:00 CEST (22:00 local time).

A total of 21,000 tickets out of 27,100 are available directly for fans and the general public to purchase. The two teams that reach the final will receive 9,000 tickets each, while the remaining tickets are being offered for sale to fans worldwide via UEFA.com/tickets. Each successful applicant will be able to purchase up to four tickets in the allocated price category.

Ticket prices:

Fans First (reserved for fans of the teams): €25
Category 3: €45
Category 2: €85
Category 1: €125

Accessibility tickets for disabled spectators cost €25. All tickets are priced at the Fans First rate and come with one complimentary companion ticket.

It's UEFA, they don't do anything sensible. Like when they chose that one for the 2019 final (Arsenal against Chelsea) about as far away as it was possible to get from any teams likely to win it, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

They giving it to countries that dont really host finals. Cant remember last major final that was in greece. Now the distribution of the tickets thats a completely separate conversation...
