I think he's struggling right now. As Risso said it's reasonable to say he's not playing well enough right now without writing off his whole career. Unai also clearly doesn't think Ned is quite ready. Now Carlos is injured we're in trouble and need Cash back asap. We really needed a right back in the summer. The 6 will be delighted FFP is doing it's job.

I think its the comments like "bogardes the worst" "worst player" "should never player for us again" these are the comments on social media where in my opinion are OTT.Dont see much of that here thankfully
Fans have such reactions they see young fullbacks like Bradley at liverpool, Lewis Hall (when)at chelsea come in and make an bigimpacts in big televised games and players like rico lewis with pundits gushing about him when he doesn't seem to do an awful lot. Villa have injury problems Irobruen comes in doesn't pull up any trees and then two young lads get a shot at the RB role and neither of them looks convincing. The big thing I noticed with Bogarde is he had a couple of moments against the toffee's where he had a chance to run at Ashley Young but he played a risk free square. It could be instruction. safety first instincts or he just didn't back himself which seemed strange. A young strong teenager one on one against a 39 year old late in the game? I'd be thinking "come on then grandad, you ready for some exercise?" The good thing is next summer Villa should get more than the usual 20m as he will have played a few more times including much coveted champions league than the likes of kellyman.

Cash often does the same thing - stopping his run and passing back/inside when he's 1v1. My guess is the right-back is told to be more conservative when the left-back is the more attack-minded player (which is often the case with our set-up).
He didn't let himself down. He learned.
