Garth Crooks unusually has it spot on whilst naming Ollie in his team of the weekend.  If they've have put half as much effort in trying to stop us scoring as this did in stopping us celebrating, they might not have lost.

Going back 15 years I knew a Brentford season ticket holder through work. He was a really good man with a deadpan approach to the lack of glamour attached to the club. Although due to us both moving roles we lost touch I was really pleased for him when they got promoted. I like to think that the hysterical few are just that and that there are still people like Pat enjoying their success.

He could have helped himself Dave by sending off Mee straight away for that textbook red card, instead it created a sense of Brentford being hard done by I felt.

He could and should Lee.  It's what I was alluding to by not recognising who didn't want to play within the laws.  On the Mee incident, the ref  was about twelve feet away, he couldn't have a better, clearer, unobstructed view of the incident.

There are always a couple of teams that seem to be on loan the the Premier League.  Over the years that would have been Bolton, Charlton, Oldham, Bradford, Blackpool - smallish clubs that have a good manager or youth team, that have their moment in the sun before disappearing back into obscurity.

Bournemouth, Luton and Brentford are currently holders of that honour.

I can think of a team much closer to home that play in orange.

No come on now, for all that they are...well, what they are, Wolves are a much bigger club than that lot.

My memory must be playing tricks on me. For nearly all my life they've been lower league dross.

I would debate the orange-ness of a Wolves kit.

Sadly, Newcastle and Chelsea are two of about 30 clubs you'd likely see in the top league, albeit with ideas well above their stations in the football universe.

Best quote goes to a guy (I presume) posted in response to the Guardian's 10 talking points of the weekend:

Brentford are Stoke with a manager with a suntan and curtains.

Thought the commentary and analysis on MotD was pretty much spot on.
Overall yes I agree apart from one thing. Shearer and Wright invoked the ex players union rule of sticking up for one of their own but in this case one who definitely needs to be called out for the nasty pos he really is. Ben Mee. Wrighty said " that was his first sending off since 2013 he's not a bad lad" or words to that effect. No one on the panel of ex footballers called him out for what it is. He's dished out several serious injuries, our own Wesley and Liverpools Joe Gomez spring to mind. Brentford clearly decided to add a nasty streak to their game by bringing in Mee and Joe Gomez. Their floppy haired twat of a manager said it wasn't a sending off so he's in a minority of one and can go fuck himself. Brentford fans on their forum saying they can't wait to play us again so they can dish out some stick to Watkins, Konsa and Martinez. Bring it on.
Edit: Mee and Neil Maupay. Lol.
And Collins!
A centre back who didn't play CB but just ran around dishing out late tackles, grabbing players and getting in the ref's face....don't think he touched the ball! That was a deliberate "tactic" by Wanker Frank to "disrupt" us and settle a few scores before the end of the game, but he comes on all innocent victim over Mee, the non-penalty and VAR.  Small minded, vindictive little shit!

We have to get used to these small time, sad little clubs getting all pissy about being steam rolled by the might of Aston Villa.

Certainly didn't touch the ball when Ollie easily lost him for the winner, the schmuck.
