Was there anything special done for Benjamin Zee apart from the three point tribute?

I thought the tribute was very well done, classy but understated. A video of him doing the piece on the Albion game, then a BW photo of him then morphing into a black Villa badge and his DOB/DOD.

All accompanied by applause (by both sets of fans to their credit) and renditions of HEITS. Very moving.

One thing, I think yesterday showed that we really do need another forward. I thought Ollie was very quiet, whether that's because he's tired or they just marked him very well I don't know, but his first touch was a bit off all night. An option to bring on would have been very welcome.

Ollie just look knackered. Let's not forget that he was 50/50 for the Bournemouth game and has subsequently played three times in a week. Saliba is also very good, maybe the best non-Villa centre half in the league.

But this was one of the most pleasing aspects about yesterday. The players we rely on most were dead on their feet. Konsa and Kamara were both visibly exhausted, Watkins and Luiz out of steam. Meatball's energy levels are freakish but even he looked spent when he got into their box a couple of times second half.

So we needed others. Pau and Carlos were immense and the former didn't stop talking. Dendoncker too, yes he gave the ball away a couple of times but he did loads of unseen work patrolling across the width of the pitch when they were trying to build out from the halfway line to plug gaps. That they only managed one legitimate effort on goal in the last half hour is testament to that. Cash and Moreno both gave us a needed burst of energy. It was a great way to win and will give them loads of confidence.

Fair fucks and if my first born was birthed now, he/she would be getting named 'Unai'.

What an incredible few days. Two very different performances but ultimately the same outcomes. I thought Man City were fragile and undercooked but Arsenal pressed us high and stuck to us like limpets. Yet, we beat them both.

So many outstanding performances that it is almost unfair to single out individuals. Such a collective expression of desire, concentration and sheer talent.

Someone mentioned earlier about not becoming entitled as you see elsewhere. I agree with that but also let's enjoy every last drop of this extraordinary ride.

We're so lucky to have Ramsey and Moreno coming back to fitness now, that could be massive in the coming weeks. In fact, other than Trossard and maybe Jorginho, I thought our bench was a fair bit better than Arsenal's last night.

He was been hounded by, Saliba, possible the best centre back in the world at the moment so I think he did well.
