Aston Villa v Arsenal Post Match Thread

We're so lucky to have Ramsey and Moreno coming back to fitness now, that could be massive in the coming weeks. In fact, other than Trossard and maybe Jorginho, I thought our bench was a fair bit better than Arsenal's last night.

With Cash, Moreno and Ramsey coming on we had a real injection of energy and pace at a critical time of the game.  They were just starting to exert some pressure, but once we made the substitutions I thought we dealt with them. 

We probably need am option in central midfield to cone on and contine pressing in the closing stages.

I thought Cash looked excellent when he came on, got all round the pitch and tidied up nicely. Probably crippled another couple of Spurs players and made their fans cry too.

All the commentary is about us being dominated and Arse not deserving to lose, but I didn't think they did much to be honest. It was a bit scrappy, but it's not like they were racking up chance after chance. They only had a couple that I can remember.

What they don't see is that despite them being allegedly "dominant", which translates to us 'not being at our 100% beautiful best', we didn't need to be at our best to beat them relatively comfortably.

So imagine what we could do to them with our full healthy squad playing to our limit.

If we had the same level of performance against Arsenal as we did against ManC, we would have thrashed them.

Obviously, the reality of exhaustion, match fitness, game management, injuries, etc, means that we did what we had to do to beat them, but we have a lot more gears than what we showed yesterday & the fact that we didn't need to push ourselves into those gears should be a concern to any non entitled arrogant imbecile Gooner fan about their own performance.

But Arsenal fans aren't exactly known for their rational self reflection...

Haven't seen much of that kind of chat to be honest. Most of the stuff I've seen has been about them having a lot of the ball but not really creating a lot, and that we defended brilliantly. Tony Adams said that, despite Arsenal losing, he 'loved' the performance, and Phil Neville said it was the best performance he's seen all year - which tells you something about how he thinks about football, but defensively speaking he's not far off.

Quick  big up for Dendonker when he came on .  Helped steady the ship and at one point went through 2 Arsenal players to make a bad pass received look good
