A faultless performance, which showed that it is unwise to fault Unai's team selection. Konsa at right back was the big surprise. SJM back to his brilliant best. Bailey phenomenal. Luiz/Kamara in complete control. Defence gave them nothing.

The one possible drawback is that we put so much into tonight's game that we will be short against Arsenal.

Arsenal also had a very tough match yesterday, I know they have an extra day but they will not be looking forward to coming to villa Park on Saturday

He's no Steven Gerrard.
Players should be ashamed of themselves for getting Gerrard the sack.

Great result, shame about the dressing room photo. Need to back it up with a win under the lights on Saturday evening.

I think that was just to capture the team taking the fourteen game record.

Fair play to the manager, staff, team and fans...let's keep this going!   UTV

Agree, surprised the statue hasn't been started yet , must be waiting for the better weather to get the bronze up

Bloody brilliant.

I let out a Come on you Villa boys from the trinity, but choked as I said  it, which made me sound like a young teen who’s balls were dropping right there and then! Tried to ride it out but it got progressively higher pitched, as more and more heads turned wondering where the awful
noise was coming from!
Well worth the embarrassment. Onto that Lego haired, whinging bastard on Saturday!

WHAT A NIGHT! UTV!

If Unai can just weave his Baileyspell on Zaniolo ... ...

Zaniolo has a higher ceiling, based on previous.

We as fans need to be more patient. Especially with young players coming in from other leagues where the standard might not be as high and there is a professional and personal adjustment that needs to happen. That along with coaching that is critical to development. What has transpired with Bailey shows that confidence, belief, application and coaching has turned him into a player that will be so crucial to us this season. The same might apply to Zaniolo who previous to us, was a very promising player with bags of talent. He hasn’t suddenly become shit. The lad has been through a lot already with injuries so he’s a fighter. And then throw in the gambling allegations and a lack of form and confidence he’s probably not feeling great about things. But if Bailey, Tielemans and the rest of the squad under Emery are anything to go by, Zaniolo in time can also be a massive asset for us.

It was a sublime performance ( not in the same league as Liverpool 5-1) . I was kid on the Witton End that day, so didn't really appreciate the performance or magnitude of that result or what was to come after.( I do now)
Sorry to be a dour Brummie , but that linesman was a c#nt.  Didn't flag any fouls against Villa all game (I was in the Trinity) despite being  a few yards away from any discretion  , until a Man City player  fell over in injury time  he started waving it like he had a cattle prod up arse... C*NT

100% agree, some of the negative comments aimed at Zaniolo is naive. Trust this manager, trust the process , not for a second would I question an Emery signing .

Just reading on BBC that this is the first time in 7 years Man City have gone 4 games without a win. Also, they've lost the last 5 games that Rodri hasn't played in.

City under Pep , tonight - most shots against , least shots they've had.
It's a total masterclass

Unbelievable, I'm not going to be able to get to sleep for ages now

Me too.  Got to be up at 6am too. Sweet dreams though, when we finally get to sleep!

Me too. Good job I’m on nights.

Wow just wow!

We utterly played them off the park.

I’m 54 and that’s the best complete domination of a world class side I’ve ever seen.

We were truly magnificent.

I wasn’t sure about Konsa in that position but he had a blinder.

Bailey ( maybe I / we need a new apology thread for him) was just world class.

We are now title contenders.

Hope not, really want to beat those f*ckers, preferably with a 97th minute winner so that our entire bench can run onto the pitch to celebrate.

Just need to stick a bloody great big fuck off poster of Sammy Morgan in the away changing room.
