Outstanding performance. Of the gazillions of improvements under Emery perhaps the biggest (it struck me tonight) is just how unbelievably comfortable and confident the whole team is (including all the defenders) with the ball, always happy to receive it in tight situations.

Shout out for Diego as well. He's done okay considering the serious injury but I have had some nagging doubts about him. Thought he did great tonight.

I'm 45 and this team has now equalled (probably overtaken) BFR's 92/93 team as my favourite (loved 95/96 too).

We are so much better without Matty Cash.

Nah, we're better when Unai gets the team right for the game at hand. Sometimes it's Matty, sometimes it ain't. We've got a squad of heroes and a manager of genius.

Agreed. Cash improved is when he came on against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Amazon Prime post match interviews are painful to watch.

Turned it off immediately and flocked to other clubs' forums to absorb every last ounce of misery/reluctant praise (delete as applicable) available. A beautiful night. My beautiful Villa.

That was absolutely the best performance I’ve seen in the modern era. Every player was outstanding, the football we’re playing is arguably the best I’ve seen in my 61years. Just outstanding

The 22 shots Villa fired at Ederson's goal are the most Pep Guardiola has seen his side face since taking over at City, whose meagre two efforts in total was a fair reflection of the hosts' superiority.

Also loved the stat that those two shots for City were the fewest a Pep side has ever created in over 500 games.

And their last shot came in the 11th minute. Relegation stuff.

Wow...you expect for that one bad minute to just ruin every thing as it always does for Villa.
VAR, the one bad pass i defense, an unreal deflection or a standard referee coinflip call.... but it didnt happen.

It was just a perfect game, I wouldn't change a single Villa player who touched grass this evening.
Strangely I feel a little sad...or maybe afraid that we never going to see a performance like that again.
22-2 in attempts...against fcking Man City. And those 2 attempts from Haaland....point blank on goal felt was just there to let Emi Martinez humble that Beast.
How do you wind down after this so you manage to fall asleep?

I won't do quotes from everywhere, but I liked this one from RAWK

When did the Villa players start using methamphetamine??

What the fuck did I just watch? They looked like peak Liverpool throughout that. City were shite but that was bizarre, Villa were ridiculous!
