This forum is very positive about tonight, the blue moon forum is very negative, with many of their support feeling a defeat or draw at best coming..he who dares wins Rodders, he who dares wins

It's nice that we seem to be starting to be seen as a genuine threat now - maybe not title contenders, but a team that's a serious threat to the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Whatever happens tonight, and for the rest of this season, Emery has worked miracles. Genuinely feel like even if it all goes to pot this season, over the next couple of years we'll become a very serious force indeed.

It’s alarmingly similar to the Newcastle and Liverpool games. Still hopefully the home support makes the difference.

Cant stand them

Cant stand 'Pep'    and his billions  , Id have more respect for him If he took over Sheff Utd and kept them up.

Come on villa,  my weeks been shite and this would give me a massive lift .  Lets do this.

Amazed at the prices for this, 7-2 Villa. That’s a 22.2% chance of winning, so more like 20% if you take off the bookies over round.

I think that underestimates our chances of winning and is therefore a great bet.

I hope we get an added time winner that's such a shocker of a decision they have to change the rules. Let's see how the babbies like it.

I wonder if we'll keep up our record of at least 3 goals at home?  Last time we didn't score 3, we had a lap of honour afterwards.

It’s funny because I think the confidence on here has massively veered the other way - and that’s not meant as a criticism, I’m just far too pessimistic! I think the reality is they should be slight favourites. Our home form, and their recent form, makes it more level. But they’re still European Champions, have a very strong side even with injuries/suspensions, and if we win it’ll be a massive achievement.

Indeed. We'll be two down inside 15 minutes. I hate it when we get good press.

The difference tonight is that we are approaching the game with the ability to at least compete but even at that we could still get humped by 4 goals, they are still a very good side.

The confidence for me comes from the fact that defeat is likely rather than a foregone conclusion, and that's how the bookies see it.

But conversely, love it when we press good!
