It's a massive exaggeration to compare tomorrow to a 1981 game. Three points would be amazing but that's all it would be. There's such a long way to go.

Agreed. Maybe our away games to Man C & Arsenal in April, and Liverpool at home in May will allow us to make 81 comparisons.

I can't remember either, but I think that you and I possibly weren't that complimentary about Mr O'Neill.

It's quite possible, I seem to recall a season opener against Wigan when we were 1-0 down at half-time. You posted something like "MON, you c*nt" (possibly with a "F*ck off" before it). :)

In the unlikely event of us winning the next two games, it would be great for us but more likely to get us an open top bus parade around Liverpool.

To be honest I was at that game and we were absolutely fucking useless, lost 2-0, lookeds like we’d been introduced in the car park beforehand and were an utter shambles, the very antithesis of the club motto Prepared and I was giving MON a very gratuitous round of fucks as well. I think it was topped off with a Rapid Vienna Europa League exit before or after as well so old pubehead couldn’t say he didn’t deserve it. The fact we then won 3-1 at Anfield the week after made me look a right idiot.

Beat Spurs, go above them.
Which sets up....
Beat Man City, go above them.
Which sets up....
Beat Arsenal, go above them.

Edit - never mind. As I was typing. Typical.

As daft as it sounds I was thinking the same and feel deflated after that Arse winner.

I see a Man City win  - They need it - and have 3 draws in a row.

Cue this is why there the best team in the world quotes in all media.

Would love it if we beat them though

Bournemouth at the weekend and then Arsenal tonight show that smaller clubs can be a tough game and few nmatches are a gimme, so we need to be aware that Man City could give us a game.

Nah, you didn't look an idiot. Our wins against the big boys under MON were inevitably built on set-pieces and counter-attacks with little control of possession. We rarely went toe to toe. Emery's way is where it's at.

Seem to remember MON having a pop in the press at the fans after that Wigan game.

Such a thin-skinned twat. Recently on Talksport he was defending his record as manager at Forest and how his sacking has coloured his opinion of the club despite all his success there as a player.
