Really strange atmosphere tonight. I was rather uncomfortable with the fact that the fans weren't allowed in but as things become clearer it looks like they were just acting like entitled twats in refusing to go in unless everyone was let in.

There were some Polish lads in the Bartons but no hint of trouble, and I saw nothing else to and from the ground but it had the sort of edge that you get when the Rags are at our place.

Glad it's out of the way and hope no one got into any bother but the condiments being lobbed into the Holte was really rather bizarre.

One thing I haven't seen is where did they all go? From about half time they seemed to vanish as I haven't seen any updates about them and is doesn't seem like many were about at full time.

Well i was at the bus stop by Bartons at about 1030 and a group of them jumped 4 or 5 Irish lads who i think were villa fans.  Most got away OK but at least one of ours was fully KO'd on the floor last I saw.  Hope he's OK.

They all be back on the building sites at 730am tomorrow if they're from the UK. If they've come over from Poland god knows probably down Broad Street now in Popworld and Reflex

Also, I can't think of any previous examples where all the away fans were refused entry into a ground in England.
Villa fans who went by train to Forest (admittedly not all), who were subsequently represented by Charlie Royle of Glaisyers Solicitors. Similarly, Portsmouth fans who went to Shrewsbury and were held at the station.

I don’t really know what else WMP (there were also Nottinghamshire and Thames Valley  police there) could have done really.  They obviously came en mass down Witton Road and they wouldn’t have been able to deal with them at the away entrance behaving the way they were.  As more and more came to the area, I think it got to the point that the resources just weren’t there to separate those who had tickets from those who didn’t.  Given their behaviour, I don’t think putting a checkpoint in place would have worked as those that came in big numbers would have kicked off big time at that point when they got turned away.

I feel for their genuine, non-moronic fans who have spent money coming over and not got into the ground.  The morons that kicked off and came without tickets can get stuffed quite frankly.

There's a lot of people saying they were refusing to go in themselves, so even the fans who got tickets stood out in the car park by choice. When that didn't get them what they wanted it kicked off and then the choice was taken from them. So its hard to feel too sorry for any of them. (Unless they were afraid to go against the rest of them and just go in, but it seems it was an organised "protest")

An absolute text-book piece of racism from Dim Tim there.

What an idiotic comment.

Can’t remember which poster whose lad didn’t like fireworks but hope that if they went they weren’t put off going to the villa.
