so what was the idea of playing Cash in midfield

Was it Cash in midfield or wingbacks and three CM's at the back? Either way I suspect he might have been trying something to throw Spurs plans and to impose something on the wings but failed.
Cash was playing in the empty crisp packet on a windy day position.
Him Watkins and Diaby were very poor today.
watkins was very good
Cash & Diaby were pony

Yes, his first touch was so bad they were springing attacks from it.
He scored, and should have scored more but he was poor today.

Nice of us to pay tribute to Venables by beating them down there like we used to when he was in charge.

For once I agree with VillaTim. Cash isn't a right sided midfielder to be fair and Diaby is just going through a lean spell. Watkins was a constant threat all game I thought. Especially when Bailey came on.

it was a pretty stupid challenge by Cash and overall he had a diabolical game (again)

Cash form has been a mixed but he was one of our best players against Fulham. It's was Emery mistake. He played in no man's land, bit like was it at home to Wolves early in Emery's reign? Neither one thing nor the other..

Weird as it is it’s very rare that all 11 (plus subs) have an amazing game, even if the team do well and get a very good result. If you’re always focussed on the flaws, or at least looking for them, you’re never going to find much joy.

Yes the set up was wrong in the first half, how we came in level !!
We were so much better with the Changes, although still conceding too many chances.
The fact that Spurs tried to rush everything including the many chances gave us the victory.

I admit, there was little joy in the game except our goals and the 3 points. Although I thought a number of players did well for us, Kamara was by far our best player, made so many crucial interceptions, Torres and Emi also excellent.
SJM Dougie Tielmens did well also.

I loved the game. Probably helped that Zaniolo had told me the score last night so I didn't worry when one down.

Yeah I don't even think we saw the victory out that well. Series of stupid fouls like Luiz giving them free kicks in dangerous positions. We made a mess of a number of counters too. Thought a lot of players on both teams were running on empty last 20 mins or so, maybe to be expected after an international break. Unbelievable result, fancied us today...until I saw starting lineup!
