Cash's challenge was a yellow, but if say a Spurs player makes a similar challenge on Buendia, on his first match back, which resulted in him having to leave the field, then there would be a similar reaction to it on this thread.

Cash was a sort of wingback, with kamara covering

For all the poor, hard done-by Spurs chat elsewhere, the Spurs fan on F365 sums it up pretty well I reckon

Quote
You can’t call it bad luck when it keeps happening. You specifically can’t call it bad luck when your team containing zero centre-backs concedes the two precise types of goal centre-backs were put on this earth to prevent.

Villa’s first was a wonderful free-kick delivery from Douglas Luiz in first-half stoppage time. It is doubtful indeed whether the presence of Eric Dier would have made a tangible difference to Pau Torres thumping home a header. But Dier would at least have seen such free-kicks plenty of times before and at least done something to try and prevent it

Really feels that they chucked it away rather than us doing that much to win it.

Also surprised to learn that Spurs have only scored more than twice in a game on one occasion this season. We'd done it more times than that before September rolled in.

Not read back through the thread
so what was the idea of playing Cash in midfield

Was it Cash in midfield or wingbacks and three CM's at the back? Either way I suspect he might have been trying something to throw Spurs plans and to impose something on the wings but failed.

it obviously wasn’t working that’s why he changed it at half time
Personally I would have liked it sorted before but we managed to only concede one goal then nicked one just before half time

That 1st goal was the key along with the system change and i knew we had a good chance of winning the game in the second half
having the best goalkeeper in the world also helps

It reminds me of games in the past when we have played well against good teams for 45 minutes, not made the most of it and end up losing when they improve in the second half.

To use a popular term on here it's "ace" we now look that team who can step up a gear at crucial moments and win/draw games.

In seasons gone by we'd have lost 1-0 at Wolves after falling behind, lost today and drawn 0-0 at Chelsea v 10 men which would've been seen as a missed opportunity.

7 points from 3 games that will be very crucial in May.

Hopefully today will stop the negativity about the away form aswell. If we win next week we'll be on 4 wins from 8 played away, keep that ratio up and that's generally what Man.United and Newcastle ran with to make top 4 last season.

For most of 2023 we've had the look of a top level team under a top level team, difference is we're now starting to believe it most weeks rather than just hoping we can become one.

Great day out and a fantastic 3 points.
First half we just weren’t at it but stuck in there. Second half a lot better and defensively much better. Martinez showed why he’s the worlds number 1.
Emery worked his magic and made the changes and they came off yet again. It’s never easy away from home but the grit and will to win we showed was great to see. It’s always a nice feeling winning in London, especially against our “Ange”.

Tottenham.  The only club in the history of football to suffer injuries.

It's completely overblown. Maddison and the Dutch CB are big misses for sure but then again we've lost Mings and perhaps Buendia for perhaps the whole season before the first game had even finished.

And a third into the season and that brilliant left hand side of Moreno and Ramsey has still yet to play a single minute together.

The other two big hitters out were Bissouma and Romero and they were both suspended so that's self inflicted and they'll be back for the busy December period.

Rest of their injuries are mainly to squad players like Sessegnon, Richarlison, Soloman, Sarr etc. Would be like us making a big thing of Diego Carlos and Duran recently being unavailable when we know they aren't starting when everyone is fit.

Man. United, Newcastle and Brighton are far more riddled with injuries than Spurs are and they don't have europe either.

I'm not sure what channel i watched the game on , but at one point they flicked over to a Spurs "fan zone" in India (mumbai i think) when Lo celso scored and they were all going mental . Later they showed it again as Torres powered his header home and they weren't so happy and a few of them looked like they were going home  :D

Yeah we'd be furious. It was a yellow card challenge, and sometimes players do get injured from yellow card challenges, but we'd have been laying into the guy in similar circumstances.

Cash was playing in the empty crisp packet on a windy day position.
Him Watkins and Diaby were very poor today.
