Would love to know what Unai said to Ange afterwards...

I suspect it might have been an apology

Why would he apologise for being better than him and beating Spurs for a 3rd consecutive game?

Well that has upset the Sky love in with Spurs
You could sense the disappointment in the commentator's voice

Doubt Alan Smith who is a Villa fan was that disappointed

He was the worst of the lot. Anti Villa in very sentence he spouted

He really wasn't. I think sometimes football fans just like to feel as though everyone is against their team

Agree, I think Smith is a very fair commentator. He's one of the few that kind of mirror what I'm thinking rather that spouting sensationalist rubbish.

Another masterclass, only this time he saved it for half time.

I think Smith is good as a commentator and pretty evenhanded.

When I left Edinburgh on the train it was Them 1-0 Us and we were playing shit. Reception's come back, final whistle's gone, and we're 2pts off first place.

Up the fucking Villa! That is all.

Smith was constant in his praise for spurs today, very biased. In the studio I thought it was quite biased too.

Nevertheless fuck them all, great win for us today, which on paper should have been easy with the amount of injuries etc they had.

But great tactical changes by Emery at halftime changed the tide.

UTV!

As soon as he made the changes at the start of the second half, I relaxed a lot more. The two positions not working were Cash and Diaby.  As soon as the subs settled, it was a different game.

Superb. Great use of the bench as well because Cash was an almost certain red card.

That first half was a serious test, they looked like they could score when they wanted and maybe on another day they run away with that. Second half was better, our midfield were more present and ultimately we've done incredibly to come from behind and win at a serious team. What a win that is.

The first half wasn't a test as Unai got it wrong big time with his team selection. It was no surprise to anybody, even Tim Sherwood could see we're at our best when we get the midfield right. I struggle to see what Unai was thinking or expecting. Maybe he thinks the players are better than they are or the opposition are really weak.

Second half he made the changes and it was night and day. Our midfield are a thing of beauty but you can't expect miracles every game. Unai has a nasty habit of tinkering with the team away from Villa Park. More often than not it doesn't work and he has to fix it.

I wasn't expecting that after 10 minutes to be honest. An inspired pair of subs which not many managers at 1-1 away from home at half time would have had the imagination to have  done. Our best win of  the season for me.

And Dougie is such a class player these days as well.

He's a baller in possession but thought his application without it was more than a bit suspect today. Lost good few duels.
