Legia isn’t a must win match

It's a must not lose match if we want to win the group

It is a much win match as if we finish equal on points the group is decided on head to head results not goal difference. It’s vital we avoid those extra 2 games in February and top the group.

Emery has started 8 players in all 12 Premier League games so far.
And McGinn and Digne are the only players to have started every Prem and Europa Conference League Match.

The question is whether players who are more prone to injuries, such as Duran, Cash, Diego Carlos, Bailey, Ramsey, Dendocker, and Zaniolo, will be able to participate much in all four of the games to a greater extent without getting injured.

What's the difference in recovery time us versus Arsenal, the midweek before? I bet they're playing on the Tuesday and not the Weds like us...

On the 5th Tuesday, Arsenal travels to Luton Town.
Havertz is one booking away from suspension and three games away from facing us.

Man City must host Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur with Rodri one yellow card away from being banned. Grealish is then on three yellows.
One or both could be suspended by time they play us!

Finding this out on the same day that Tyrone Mings retires from professional football has reduced me to tears. I'm going to find a dark corner and assume the foetal position.
It's ok Mingsy did an update!
Get this though!
Imagine how you and all of us will feel if Villa win all 3 home matches in that period.
Literally winning all 3 of Legia, Man City and Arsenal!

It's the price for success.
Of course a seaside trip to Bournemouth as well but those 3 home matches are what it's all about.
Success in those 3 be super and will be most exciting. I can't wait!

Villa Park going to rocking.
Go Villa!!

Well the impact for a start -physical and mental fatigue.
The Legia Game is vital European must win match.
How can such fixture congestion be justified? Following on with two of the most difficult fixtures back-to-back.
We are fortunate they are all at home.

Seems like because it's amazon and sky selections it's messed it all up.
Man City could be Thursday not Wednesday.
The Arsenal game could have definitely been rescheduled for Sunday  or Monday as don't play again till Thursday 14th.

Arsenal are playing on Tuesday 12th so your whole argument is bullshit.
I didn't mean Arsenal, and I wasn't aware of it. I was referring to Villa playing again, as I mentioned on the 14th in Europa. I hadn't thought of Arsenal.
And as I say it suggests the game has shifted for their favour.

I know the game has changed a bit but I remember when we used to play 3 games in 4 days at Easter.
Some of the stuff here about fixture congestion sounds like the moans you used to hear from Wenger/Fergie and has been continued through to Klopp/Guardiola etc.
Just get the fuck on with it, we're Aston Villa and we play when we want and we score when we want.

Emery thrives on games rather than training. This should suit football down to the ground, UTV. !!

Well it has BECAUSE they play on the Tuesday following it. So why would they agree to play on a Monday.

The game has not been shifted for their favour. They’re playing Tuesday night so the weekend game preceding has to be on theSaturday as the rule is you need 2 clear days between fixtures. The fixture list does not revolve around us Footy, you may have noticed there’s two teams involved.

Reckon we'll do Legia pretty comfortably, Bournemouth will be flaky and harder than one would like but we'll just get over the line, we'll lose to Man City (and it might even be a bit of a pumping) but I think we'll beat Arsenal.

Dear, dear, dearie me.

We've got to accept that as little old Aston Villa, 4 games in 10 days is of no consequence or interest to ANYBIDY, ANYWHERE (especially the press) compared to the intolerable burden faced by:

Arsenal 4 games in 11 days
Man Ciy 4 games in 13 days
Liverpool 4 games in 10 days
Spurs 3 games in 10 days
Man U  4 games in 11 days
Newcastle 4 games in 13 days
Brighton 4 games in 10 days
