4 Games in 10 days.
« on: November 20, 2023, 07:05:40 PM »
With four matches in ten days beginning next week, the squad and  resources will be really put to the test.
It's exciting, but there's also concern that further injuries or match suspensions could occur during this period.  So with only two non playing days between games rotating will have to occurs as well and the amount of games will be impacting playing performance and player selections.

Legia Warsaw h- Thursday 30th Nov
Bournemouth a- Sunday 3rd Dec
Man City h - Wednesday 6t Dec
Arsenal h- Saturday 9th Dec

That's a massive three home ties. And I'm looking forward to the challenge despite the worry and concerns for players and Villa giving a fair account of ourselves to win the matches.
Ideally our best players selections are needed in all of them.
4 games in 10 games then the squad needs to step up.

How will it all go in those 10 days starting next Thursday?
The line ups, results, injuries, suspensions and likelihoods of players appearing consecutive matches and their availability for selection is a major talking point

The 10 day period performance is likely to be impacted like in a chain of prior occurrence.

Is this the pre-match thread? Where is the poll?

Spurs?
So the four games don't include the Spurs, which are on Sunday. After which it's rest and recovery and training days—the luxury of three days of non-playing in prep for the 4 matches :
Legia Warsaw, Bournemouth, Man City , Arsenal.

Is this the pre-match thread? Where is the poll?
It's a future planning and thinking ahead thread in many ways. And then to become a here-and-now thread as Villa and Emery negotiate the 10-day period.

Hope that clears up any confusion on intentions.

Well the impact for a start -physical and mental fatigue.
The Legia Game is vital European must win match.
How can such fixture congestion be justified? Following on with two of the most difficult fixtures back-to-back.
We are fortunate they are all at home.

Seems like because it's amazon and sky selections it's messed it all up.
Man City could be Thursday not Wednesday.
The Arsenal game could have definitely been rescheduled for Sunday  or Monday as don't play again till Thursday 14th.

Arsenal are playing on Tuesday 12th so your whole argument is bullshit.

And originally Man City was on Tuesday and got moved to Wednesday because of the European match meaning we had to play Bournemouth Sunday.

Personally I don't see much difference between:-

Thursday. Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday for us
Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, (Tuesday) for Arse,
and
(Saturday), Tuesday, Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday, (Wednesday) for City.

Finding this out on the same day that Tyrone Mings retires from professional football has reduced me to tears. I'm going to find a dark corner and assume the foetal position.

What's the difference in recovery time us versus Arsenal, the midweek before? I bet they're playing on the Tuesday and not the Weds like us...

Legia isn’t a must win match

It's a must not lose match if we want to win the group
