I now have the obligatory Bad Feeling. I'll never forget when we beat Blackburn under MON to look really secure in the top 4, everyone was saying we went up a level, looked solidly like a big team, and thereafter did that absolute classic MON spring collapse.

I know Emery is better than MON, I know all of this. You just can't help but feel a balloon is inflating towards a pin, as a Villa fan.

I was there that day and came out at the end saying to our kid we were in the title race.

Heskey the missing piece of the jigsaw, lol.

I think the difference between now and the MON era is that we all knew, deep down, that he had his faults (and was too stubborn to change) but most of us just didn't want to admit it at the time.

Unai is the real deal in comparison.

It was always obvious when we came up against a properly coached team, no matter how good our players were and how much team spirit we had.

All true and I’m not being negative, just trying to dampen my over excitement! I think we will win and i think we will beat Fulham and then, the way Spurs are being hyped it’s the first really big one of the season (choosing to strategically ignore Newcastle and Liverpool). I think we’ll beat Spurs as well to be honest….at which stage the noise both internally and externally around the Man City game midweek under the lights, will be quite hard to fathom.

10-12 ponts from the next 4 games (optimistic but achievable) and Citeh would indeed be a massive occasion under the lights.

Hoping Wood is still out with that groin strain as he might be a bit of a handful for Pau and Konsa.

Totally agree like comparing apples and pears

Bear in mind that mostly for the last few weeks Emery and staff have had a midweek game to also prep for, or an international break where half the squad disappear. He now has a full week with everyone available to plan for Forest. They should be afraid.

1-3 win, won't be easy but the team is full of confidence and playing bloody brilliant.

The Franz Carr derby. Hope he gets a warm reception at half-time if he's paraded.

Players you easily forget have played for us.

I’ll always remember his only goal for us, which was a big one at Forest in the FA Cup Quarter final.  We really thought (yet again) it was going to be our year.  Spoiler alert - it wasn’t.

What a fantastic night that was. Celebrated at the end like we’d already won the Cup.

Some fantastically shonky defending from Forest there. The #5 seems to think FC is about a yard to the left of where he actually is, and the #3 looks like he is standing back to let him shoot freely. It wouldn't be good manners to not let him have a try...

Hope they are that bad Sun

Feel so bad for him! I mean I guess he's a millionaire and everything, but you know. He was a very good player at what he did, really useful, great pro, nice guy, all that. You're not getting relegated with Heskey. Trouble is, MON carried that safety-first mentality to the top 6 where...it had limits.

Number 3 backing off shitting himself is none other than tactical genius and hardman Stuart Pearce.

They seem to have quite a few players out, including Wood, Origi, Hudson-Odoi and Felipe.

Makes me a bit more confident of a Villa victory.

Yeah but that's not fair, he's not a miracle-worker!
