3 points and a clean sheet please. I'll take 0-1 but 0-4 would be sound too.

This is the 'tricky' sort of game we have to be winning if we have ambitions to be in the top four/five at the end of the season.

Unai and the players know it, hence, 0-2 to the villa.

Happy days.

As a top 5 club, we should look at this fixture as the other top 5 clubs do. They all expect to win and so should we. No match is easy, (even Brighton at home) but if we respect the opposition and trust our processes we will get our reward. 0-3

True but last season didn't they draw with Man City and Man Utd at home and beat Arsenal, meaning the only top four team (as of last year) to beat them there was Newcastle and that was a last minute winner.
So don’t think it’ll be a walk over, but agree with the sentiment that the result needs to match the ambition.

*might be wrong on man utd result but too lazy to look.

They were 2-0 up against Luton this season though at home, and managed to stuff that up. Even we managed to draw at home against Man City last season, and that was when we were still very much shit.

The Franz Carr derby. Hope he gets a warm reception at half-time if he's paraded.

Players you easily forget have played for us.

I’ll always remember his only goal for us, which was a big one at Forest in the FA Cup Quarter final.  We really thought (yet again) it was going to be our year.  Spoiler alert - it wasn’t.

What a fantastic night that was. Celebrated at the end like we’d already won the Cup.

I now have the obligatory Bad Feeling. I'll never forget when we beat Blackburn under MON to look really secure in the top 4, everyone was saying we went up a level, looked solidly like a big team, and thereafter did that absolute classic MON spring collapse.

I know Emery is better than MON, I know all of this. You just can't help but feel a balloon is inflating towards a pin, as a Villa fan.

I'm on the opposite shift to one. We give each other stick over the radio during handover. Working Sunday. Would like a win to ruin his night before it begins.

All true and I’m not being negative, just trying to dampen my over excitement! I think we will win and i think we will beat Fulham and then, the way Spurs are being hyped it’s the first really big one of the season (choosing to strategically ignore Newcastle and Liverpool). I think we’ll beat Spurs as well to be honest….at which stage the noise both internally and externally around the Man City game midweek under the lights, will be quite hard to fathom.

It's in our DNA. It's Emery's biggest job in this project to alter it. We are always looking for banana skins, every game becomes one because we've had so many before.

Johnson, who went to Spurs in the summer was their main man.

No him = no points for them at home to us this year
