It's a staple offering of greasy spoon cafes and vans throughout the nation. Brown sauce, job's a good 'un.

I'm not having it.  Surely the bread loses all structure? It sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.  Not for me.

It's the hangover cure from heaven.Lightly toasted/fried on one side of the bread gives the tinned tomato a solid base.

we used to get a cracking BEST (bacon egg sausage tomatoe) sandwhich in the mornings there before Uni from a van on the car park not far from the ground behind where the old away end was .

When I worked on the West Brom/Oldbury border, Saturday's OT used to be punctuated with a sandwich run to a local cafe. They used to do a BEST/BESM, and if you asked for it as a double decker on crusty, used to cut the end off a bloomer, then cut two slices not quite all the way through to load the stuff on. Used to almost dislocate your jaw biting into it.

Specification dictates that the bread has to be toasted to ensure structural integrity. The canned tomatoes ratio has to be just right to avoid a disaster , generally speaking the people on the assembly line know what they're doing.

Yeh fuck the tomatoes. Straight to protein with a bit of sauce between bread and it’s done.

Tinned tomatoes heated up and served directly are an abomination. Here in France people look at me with visible disgust when I tell them what people in the UK do with plum toms out of a tin.

Agreed, and good to know there are still 'normal' people on here.

Always quite enjoyed going on nights out in Wolvo. Posada and that rock pub (can't remember the name).

Wolves is one of the only places where you can feel posh as a Brummie.

Absolutely. No frills needed with a bacon sandwich.

Think that was it, had a big throne in it.
