The closure of Beatties was a hammer blow. It ripped the heart out of the city centre.

They're shite, it's why they'll languish in the bottom 6 or 7 all season and get a hard on going full Stoke against a good side. Why we should be peeved we didn't beat them.
Definitely 2 points dropped and a gap opening to the top

We're 5th, 2 points off city with a massively disrupted squad you miserable so and so

I remember a few years ago when being battered by PNE we would have traded a bollock to be mid table and boring in the prem. we are 5th after 8 games winning 5 and drawing 1. In Europe and have a world class manager. Saying we have dropped 2 points and gap widening……come on VillaTim, cheers up a bit mate.

i went to Uni for 2 years in Wolverhampton , it was a shit hole then and it still is today.

2 years? Did they kick you out?
i left of my own accord and continued my studies elsewhere

Good on you, Tim.

Wolverhampton was okay twenty years ago when it got its act together before becoming Wolverhampton again. It's still got some good pubs and last Friday it was the rock'n'roll capital of the world.
Who played there ?

I don't mind Molineux. Not many grounds you can walk to within 5-6 minutes of major train station so give me that over out of town atrocities like the Madjeski stadium any day.

Also seen three different teams win there in 18 months, two in the premier league and one when Wolves had fallen straight through to league one.

Wolverhampton is fine by me. Had some  great nights there before and after Civic gigs and there's plenty of decent pubs if you know where to look. My lad is in his 2nd year at Uni there and really enjoying it.

Same here. Gigs at the civic, and the old pre season games with a few Dingles mates when Wolves needed a big club to play before enjoying a season of mid table mediocrity.

I went to see the Charlatans at the Civic and it was the worst accoustics I've ever encountered at a gig.

My first ever full time job interview at 18 was in Wolverhampton at Beatties . I didn't get the job unbelievably. Probably was an early sliding doors moment .

Yeah, the sound seems to bounce off the back wall so it feels like you hear it twice.

I used to work at Wolves Uni and have invigilated a few exams in the Civic. Excellent venue for invigilator Pacman.

we used to get a cracking BEST (bacon egg sausage tomatoe) sandwhich in the mornings there before Uni from a van on the car park not far from the ground behind where the old away end was .
What sort of monster wants tinned tomato on a bacon, egg & sausage sandwich?
