I disagree about Poch.  He is a fine manager and a decent bloke who just so happens to have made the mistake of joining the American Circus at just the wrong time.
I agree but I'm pretty sure he'll turn them round.

I think he has the ability but I'm not sure he'll get the time, he's their 4th manager in a year and they've now thrown a billion pounds at it as well as employing a guy who is meant to be one of the best managers in the world, if they're bottom half after 10 games things start to get twitchy for him ad they've got a tough run coming up. Fulham and Burnley as the next 2 but then there's a run of 7 games where you could see them going without a win if they don't find some form.

BHA got what must be the best deal ever hosing CFC £115M for Caciedo

Brighton's relationship with Chelsea reminds of those 'magic cup' hustlers, with Chelsea the naive tourist getting consistently mugged hoping this time they're going to win.

I can't feel much sympathy for anyone who has gone to Chelsea, player or manager, in the last year or so, especially not since January. They probably needed an Emery type who would come in and do a job with the players already there, and minimise spending until the next window. Instead they bought another entirely new team and are in the exact same situation they were in last season.

And to think after the opening match against Liverpool (where they only had 4 shots on target and drew 1-1) he was being praised as already turning it around from last season and just needing to improve defensively as attacking wise, they looked the done deal.
Edit: And it probably didn't help him bragging that the week without a European match meant he had the team in being extra prepared for the weekend. It is on-par with MON stating the weakened team against Spartak away would mean he would have his best team out against Stoke the weekend to go for a CL spot.

In terms of Chelsea.  They have signed some really good young players and need to give them time to gel instead of sacking managers.  They will start to batter teams at some point.  They have got it wrong up front though, powder puff.

Haven't seen the Zaniolo shot yet, that was apparently well saved.

It is approx one minute in on the SkySports video.

Cheers, great technique by Zaniolo. Chelsea GKs always seem to have the game of their lives against us.

Christ, I just had a Nam flashback to that Stoke game where that family of pigeons were sitting in our half for most of the game & the Stoke fans were cheering getting to the half way line.

2-0 up, just to fluff it in the last few minutes with that shit Stoke clogger banging in a late equaliser to basically start our decade if demise...

Depressing.

For better or for Worse at least we are a football club run as a football club
they are run more like a global money laundering operation

They are totally pointless and completely meaningless

There seemed to be a bit of a running battle between Dougie and Fernández yesterday which was a good watch!
Only one winner in that contest considering the Chelsea lad lasted barely an hour.

I guess the difference is that there aren't many managers who'd be considered a big improvement on Pochettino, even allowing for his current struggles. There's De Zerbi, but he'd be mental to do a Graham Potter, and some bloke called Enai Umery at some tinpot Midlands club, but other than that there aren't too many candidates.

My favourite thing about Ollie's goal (and I haven't read this entire thread, so it might have been pointed out already), was that after the mis-control by Thiago Silva allowed Diaby to break away, Thiago Silva tried to make amends by tripping Diaby - clearly recognising the break was on and he was away.  Moussa hurdled the attempt (just) and kept going, when he could have gone down and earned Silva a yellow.  When the ball went in, you could see Silva's frustration - he knew he'd fucked up, both with the mis-control, and not taking out Diaby when he could.  Delicious.

I really love it when an attempt at a professional foul fails, and the attacking team properly capitalises.
I thought the attempt from Thiago was laughable. He's an old man in football and Moussa is one of if not the quickest, most agile forward in the League.

We were saying it was strange that Thiago didn’t make a more serious attempt to foul Diaby but I guess he just couldn’t quite keep up with him. However from the upper tier in the away end his awareness and positioning were very good for much of that first hour and he has a real sense of danger. Well past his prime now though.

I know a fella I have a drink with most weeks who is a Chelsea supporter and has been going there for donkeys years

He says Thiago is the best CH he’s ever seen Including John Terry obviously age is catching up with him now as he must be 100 years old

I don’t watch them but I can see how he would have been brilliant for a long time. He reminded me of somebody who had watched a few McGrath videos as a trainee!

Fortunately, Poch thought he was too good to be the Villa manager when we were looking for one. Another cheque book Charlie.

Bullet well and truly dodged.
No not really. Pochettino is a top top coach , the problem at Chelsea is the ****** who own them. They are treating the PL like IPL in cricket. Just buy the players with highest numbers, batters and bowlers' and job done. I believe Baseball is like that but I don't know much about that sport. Football is different but I hope  they continue to flush their money down the pot.
