I'd had a few too many last night, and on seeing the lineup, threw a tantrum and refused to watch the game..
What didn't you like about the line-up?  I'd say that's probably our strongest team with the current injuries and Ramsey still working up his fitness.

I did think Martinez instead of Olsen was a strange one, but we got away with it.

Anyway, great win again, 12 points from those first 6 games is more than i would have taken. Just need to get going in the cups, so no slip ups in midweek or in the next European one.

My favourite thing about Ollie's goal (and I haven't read this entire thread, so it might have been pointed out already), was that after the mis-control by Thiago Silva allowed Diaby to break away, Thiago Silva tried to make amends by tripping Diaby - clearly recognising the break was on and he was away.  Moussa hurdled the attempt (just) and kept going, when he could have gone down and earned Silva a yellow.  When the ball went in, you could see Silva's frustration - he knew he'd fucked up, both with the mis-control, and not taking out Diaby when he could.  Delicious.

I really love it when an attempt at a professional foul fails, and the attacking team properly capitalises.

....I'd like to make a comment on the game-----------Caicedo £115,000,000?

I thought before the game we could do with him not being fit to start.  I never noticed him in the game at all. Luiz looked twice the player.

It's fine - everyone can ignore us like last year as far as I am concerned. Wank over Brighton and Hammers whilst being mortified over crisis clubs Chelsea and Man U

Same here, quite happy to keep flying 'under the radar'.

Seem to remember him being pretty anonymous both occasions that we beat Brighton last season as well.

I tend to only notice Caicdeo when he's fouling one of our players.

For what has been a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde start to the season, we are doing pretty well, form wise.

Saw a table that started at the beginning of 2023 & we were joint second behind Man City in first place, Liverpool & Arsenal above us on goal difference.

But we had won more games than both of them.

Not sure where we are since Emery started, but it has to be right up there.

And thats with a fair few teething problems along the way...

Chelsea were where they belong.

Just outside the bottom four based purely on the fact that the bottom four had already been relegated 5 games ago, lol.

Beating Chelsea is always so sweet.

They are a scumbag club from top to bottom.

Hopefully we are finally getting it together defensively.

Lovely to beat those classless twonks. The New England Patriots of the Premier League.

My knowledge of American "football" couldn't be seen under a electron microscope, so I have to ask what is up with them? They're Peter Griffin's team and I guess Tom Brady played for them, as he appears in the cartoon...?

Team that gad nothing up to about 2000, then dominated. Awful fans, mix of glory supporters and racists. Team famous for blurring the lines between what is legal and what isn't.

Thankfully, they've also gone off a bit in recent years.

"Blurring the lines" is a bit of an understatement, lol...

They really are, and they always have been. Born to make money from the boom in football in the Edwardian era (I don't know of any other club in England that started with those aims) fashionable because of where their ground was in the 60's, a byword for racism and hostillity and Ken Bates in the 70's and 80's, dodgy oligarch funding for the last 20 years now this obsecene transfer largesse.

And their fans are still by and larger a bunch of racist morons.

I thought the attempt from Thiago was laughable. He's an old man in football and Moussa is one of if not the quickest, most agile forward in the League.

It's laughable they've spent all that money and they're still playing him and an untested kid up front.

I know we caught them offside a lot, but I’m not as convinced as many on here that the high-line is working again. Emi pulled off some great saves when they were clean through having beaten the trap.
Yes, that happened twice and that is two too many. Need to sort that.

Nobody has been squabbling on here* since yesterday, which is disconcerting but very pleasant. We should win more often so world peace can prevail.

* Well, in this thread at least.
