That is almost Chaucerian.

Koj. Bert. Tammy. A season each, all legends. And that's a word I never bandy about. He lived in that stratum of the likes of Okocha and Trundle; mercurially blessed, but never quite being able to grasp greatness.

He made me not give up hope, and for that I'll forever be thankful.

I can't believe how low we'd sunk to have RDM as manager.
Was at Preston that game he got his P45 , what a bleak walk back to the car that was

Jimmy Danger pre injury was as lethal as any forward that has played in the Championship. “Benteke Light” in that he could score any goal imaginable at his peak. Fantastic and exciting while his flame burned brightly.

I hesitate to say what a great read that was, I’d locked the memories of those dark days away. However the likes of Jimmy D, Uncle Albert etc were shining beacons of hope in some very dark days. So thanks for a brilliant if uncomfortable read.

I loved Jimmy Danger. The Dalian Atkinson of our championship spell only more prolific. Brightened many an afternoon but equally as capable of looking  lethargic or lazy. The goal vs Fulham was vintage Tony Daley vs Everton. And I think we sometimes underappreciate he actually got nine league goals in the promotion season.  An enigma but a talented one.

He was a top player in the championship prior to his injury and really never quite got back to that. The games i went to that season where i saw him live, he was on a different level to pretty much everyone else on the pitch. I'm sure he have made it in the PL without the injury, maybe not quite as well as Watkins has but still useful.

We seem to have a particularly high number of players that get injured and then aren't the same again.

I was thinking that recently, the phrase 'never the same player after that...' seems to apply to way too many of our players.

Absolutely, it's not just one or two either, bloody loads of them.

My mind goes all the way back to around Christmas 1990, and that wanker Bryan Robson chopping down a then at the height of his powers Tony Daley in full flight.
He was out for a while and I swear he was never the same player afterwards.
