Also how many young players do we actually have at the moment that would be near starting with the first team? Feels like we cleared most of them out. Kellyman is, I think, the only one left who was on the US trip. He was in training with the first team this week. And was it Feeney was with them last week and on the bench for Burnley?

I mean, if there was ever a game to do it, this would be it.

Omari Kellyman. Kadan Young. Josh Feeney. Kerr Smith. Rory Wilson.

All good enough to face Hibernian for at least 45 mins.

I'd go with Patterson before Smith but otherwise I'd agree all of those could be worth looking at.

I don't think he'll go major changes. Just a few breathers here and there and maybe 45 minute run outs for a couple (McGinn, Konsa, Kamara). I can't see youngsters being on the field en masse until the second half and it's definitely not going tits up

Olsen

Konsa
Chambers
Torres
Revan (even this I'm not convinced he'll do)

Tielemans
Kamara
McGinn
Bailey

Traore
Duran

Subs: Marschall, Zych, Carlos, Cash, Digne, Kamara, Diaby, Watkins, Kellyman, O'Reilly, Feeney

Everyone knows it's bollocks anyway.

The smallest club in the city always tries that.

Man City say it about Manchester. West Ham say it about London. No doubt Everton try it with Liverpool.

Nobody actually believes it other than themselves.

I think Bully touches on a good point there but without actually highlighting it, you can have a bigger bench for this (12 I think) so it's pretty easy to load it with first teams and kids and respond accordingly during the game.

Yep. And we're obliged to pick two keepers on the bench so we don't need to moan about that tonight.

Do we have enough players left to fill all allocated places?

Probably not. We didn't take loads to Edinburgh. And the U21s have a game tomorrow

Following Watkins interview in the week and his love of playing and wanting to score i assume he will definitely want to play.

Making players travel up to Edinburgh for no real reason is different to including in the squad for a home game though and I don't think it would be a massive problems to give some of the kids 20-30mins tonight even if it weakens the U21 team, they'll learn much more from being around the first team anyway.

I mean I know Blues fans are generally thick as mince but to have no idea why that might be the case is a low even for them.

I couldn't bring myself to keep the second tweet in, that was painful.

Shit, I had forgotten about Patterson.

Good shout...

However, I think Smith is more than ready to face the likes of Hibernian cos he has already face Scottish Premiership teams about 10 times before he joined Villa from the age of 16.

I don't know exactly who he faced, but I know he played 10 times for Dundee United.

Does the second chap realise that he's rinsing the first chap?

And someone needs to explain to the first chap the meaning of 'self awareness'...
