Yeah, and they only flew that “White Lives Matter” banner over Turf Moor once.

Jesus, I'd forgotten about that. What sort of c**t do you have to be to think that's a good idea?

Clearly not a great idea and likely has racist motives as you're implying.

But I wouldn't be so quick to wholly condemn those who feel they have been badly let down by all parties including Corbyn's version of the Labour Party in a post industrial/post Thatcher Britain.

I don't have many problems with condemning people who spent 10 years being shat on by tory austerity and decided that it was down to them "forrins" and the solution was to back the tories more.

What should they do now then?

Not throw bricks as buses, vote for the BNP or be racist, that's a good start.

You are right but the it's not the way to make a point by rubbishing those who are probably even less fortunate than you.

Absolutely agree with what they shouldn't do - that's the  easy part.

But what should they do (in a positive way) now? There's an election coming up - who's going to help their situation?  I don't see a fag packet in difference between the policies of the two main parties (and they're both considered more left of centre compared to the last labour government) so can understand why there might be a lot of frustration.

They're considered left of centre by who, exactly?

This Tory government is left of the last Labour government? Are you holding 'the political spectrum' upside down mate?

Don't claim to be a great political analyst, but the general reporting is one of high taxes and more public spending that previous governments.

There is also a bit of a push on redistribution through the tax system.  Corporation tax is still higher than previous governments (I think).

So - no - I don't think the point I was making was so far off.

There is no extra redistribution through the tax system. Low earners have been hammered by the freeze in the tax-free allowance. Labour has no plans to reverse this.

Taxes are high for a number of reasons. None of them are left-wing. Again, Labour has no plans to reverse this.

I'd be up for another go. It's got to go right this time - I mean, how could it go wrong again? What are the odds?

If the Iraq War comments are a dig at me then you couldn't be further from the truth in understanding my politics.

Like most of you I have the luxury of not being particularly affected by whichever government is in power, so I can decide how to live my life based on principles of fairness and the general good.

However in the course of my working life I come across many decent hard working people who really struggle.  They are the Dudley and Kidderminster equivalent of the Burnley folk that have been condemned.  They voted Brexit, they voted tory, they resent the impact immigration is having on their communities.

They might be very misguided and foolish in their political choices but it doesn't hurt to have a little empathy for their situation.

Police released footage of the brick being thrown and it does look like its the incident that was linked earlier where someone was below the road filming it. Which makes you wonder why they're appealing for help identifying them when they uploaded it themselves?
