19 goals in 4 Villa matches (we'll ignore which direction 5 of them went) this season. That's exciting viewing if nothing else.

Like Paul says, bunch of Brexit twats. Get them back in the lower leagues to scrap with their Millwall brethren.

Just read the Villa team bus was bricked - front window smashed.

I guess every club has its morons - not a good look

Those Burnley fans must've been scared. Half of them have never seen a horseless carriage before.

Very good Bish.

Konsa looks so much better on the ball than before Emery came in

That's the difference between an elite manager like Emery and an also ran like Gerrard.

He's still not a Moreno, but so many times he just took the piss with their winger, threw in a little dribble or turn like an attacking midfielder would do.

I reckon it was that pre-season goal that did it. He just woke up and realised "fuck, I can dribble round these chumps just as well as anyone else can".

We look like a hugely accomplished team. The midfield, as others have said, were superb at denying them any space to work in.

We had a tough few minutes at the start of the second half - which is going to happen in the vast majority of PL games - but while your Villa PTSD conditions you to fear the worst, we calmly adjust and just go and score again, retake control of the game.

My only critique is that we should have scored more.

Let's not get too self righteous. Every club including ourselves have a minority of moronic wankers. The footage of a Derby fans coach being attacked at the play off final is not pleasant. In fairness the Burnley fans forum I've just looked at is showing uniform disgust and condemnation.
The reality is a lot of us let off steam and act in ways we wouldn't consider away from football but it isnt remotely close to anything violent. Football has changed so much in the last 30 years and not always for the better. But you now usually go to games without having to look around what may be happening to keep yourself out of harms way. None of these idiots from any club should be allowed to take us back to those bad old days.

Youd hope to fuck that they didn't throw something at it while it was moving on the motorway.

We've brought in Diaby, Torres, Tielemans, and Zaniolo. I think I would be pretty jealous of a window like that.

Was an early morning watch for me, but some great stuff from what I saw.  I mentioned at half-time that Pau was looking legit, and of course he came out and fell asleep right after the half, so blame that one on me. Other than that I thought he looked very good.  Carlos looked like a unit and Konsa looked great as well. If they can play for a full 90 minutes, I think we will be fine without Mings while he recovers.

Olsen is Olsen.  I don't think he was as dire as some make him out to be, but he does have his lapses thay make you hold your breath. I think the issue is, I'm not sure you're going to find a real quality keeper that's willing to come in and resign himself to the bench behind Martinez for 95% of matches.

I think this formation really suited Cash and Digne. Both are much better bombing forward in attacks than defending the wings.

The midfield was solid as always, and Diaby and McGinn were probably the best players on the field. Watkins misses a lot, but I can forgive him for today as when he got the shot off the keeper was already on top of him.

Zaniolo looks like a tasty new option.  Can't wait to see how he develops this year. He probably should have passed over to Watkins on that one break away, but you could tell he really wanted a debut goal.  Or maybe he's seen Watkins finishing this year? 😄

That's what that previous post suggests to me. I'd hope there'd be criminal charges brought if that is the case.

On a side note, is there a pronunciation guide for our players?  I've seen announcers use all kinds of variations whenever I can watch.

Dean-yuh, Dean-yay or Dean?
Dee-yah-bee or Dee-a-bee?
Martin-ez or Mar-teen-ez?
Kuh-mar-uh or Camera?

Superb performance.

Our midfield is so strong at denying space to work in, but in general the whole out of possession defensive shape across the pitch today was excellent. We seemed to smother them and then came the surgical dismemberment of Burnley when we nicked the ball.

Felt they gave us space, but nonetheless, we cut them to ribbons on the break. Diaby in that 2nd striker/10 area has increased the quality massively.

Digne did well to gallop into acres of space down the left, but it will be interesting to see how that danger on the break increases when Alex "3 lungs" Moreno is back.

Feel that Torres was weak for the goal, getting sold one way, but a minor blemish. His distribution is great though. There was a ball he played in the 1st half that looked beyond some of the midfielders we've had in the past decade, never mind a centre half. Carlos looks a bit too much for the long pass for me, but by and large, both were comfortable. Carlos showing some good recovery speed and strength too.

But slow out after the break, but the scoreline flattered them. Zaniolo looked promising, thunderous shot, good turn of pace, shame he couldn't pick Ollie out. Also a shame Ollie didn't score.

One or two more additions, Moreno and JJ to return and we'll have a great season.

I thought Carlos moved ahead of Torres in the CB pecking order today. Very solid. He's effectively a new signing.

I'm still not that sure on John Sleeuwenhoek and Brian Greenhalgh.
