Just read the Villa team bus was bricked - front window smashed.

I guess every club has its morons - not a good look

Those Burnley fans must've been scared. Half of them have never seen a horseless carriage before.

I thought we were fucking great. As a team, I said to a mate, we dont seem to run, we seem to just pass. It must save us a shit load of energy. We look really good to watch.

Pleasing performance apart from the dodgy 10 minutes at start of second half. Not sure why Olsen is getting so much attention on the post match thread. Would appear some have it in for him regardless of his performance which I deemed adequate today.

How are Burnley at home again next week? I know they didn't play last week, but that's 3 in a row.

We’re away again as well. That’s three out of four.

Brexit 1-3 Villa

Apart from the odd lapse I thought we were great.

Konsa looks so much better on the ball than before Emery came in

I know we requested our first match be away to give the pitch more time, and Luton have requested a few away matches to start..... so maybe that's made things weird for other teams, knock on effect.

Olsen did what he needed to apart from getting caught in no-man's-land near the end. He looks like what he is; a back-up goalkeeper.

Have to disagree, suicidal pass to Kamara , the headless chicken flap leaving Rodriguez an empty net, the guy is a joke .

Having seen it from a different angle now, that was crisp packet hands for the goal.
I thought at the time he should have saved it
Yet you don’t mention Torres getting turned so the guy could get his shot off from 6 yards?
It doesn't suit the current narrative on this forum to heap shit on Olsen even when there is no reason.

I stuck up for him on a Villa Facebook page, but then saw the different angle on the highlights posted here. Very weak effort by both of them.

Olsen is poor, we all know that and I can’t see how anyone can mount an evidence based defense of this fact. (Perhaps he’s amazing for the national team?)

Unai has decided that there are higher priorities than a capable backup, so we roll the dice. Hopefully Emi is back sharpish.

That's the difference between an elite manager like Emery and an also ran like Gerrard.

Emery has improved so many players, and so much. Gerrard didn't improve any of them, and spent most of the time playing hard man and picking fights like some sort of 1980s manager would have done.

Superb performance.

Our midfield is so strong at denying space to work in, but in general the whole out of possession defensive shape across the pitch today was excellent. We seemed to smother them and then came the surgical dismemberment of Burnley when we nicked the ball.

Felt they gave us space, but nonetheless, we cut them to ribbons on the break. Diaby in that 2nd striker/10 area has increased the quality massively.

Digne did well to gallop into acres of space down the left, but it will be interesting to see how that danger on the break increases when Alex "3 lungs" Moreno is back.

Feel that Torres was weak for the goal, getting sold one way, but a minor blemish. His distribution is great though. There was a ball he played in the 1st half that looked beyond some of the midfielders we've had in the past decade, never mind a centre half. Carlos looks a bit too much for the long pass for me, but by and large, both were comfortable. Carlos showing some good recovery speed and strength too.

But slow out after the break, but the scoreline flattered them. Zaniolo looked promising, thunderous shot, good turn of pace, shame he couldn't pick Ollie out. Also a shame Ollie didn't score.

One or two more additions, Moreno and JJ to return and we'll have a great season.

The players we keep doubting are currently coming up with the goods. Sign of a quality team.

Special mention for cash and digne this week. What a manager we have

Absolutely bossed the midfield. We spent most the second half in cruise control. Olsen was ok I guess but he's no Emi Martinez. Ollie fluffed his lines again. The commentary I listened to was calling Luca Digne Dinya the whole game which is piss poor and very annoying. Overall another masterclass by Unai Emery.

How do you say his name, cos if you think he's a distant relative of Brian Deane you're more off the mark than the commentators.

It's pronounced Dean as in Dean Smith.

No it isn't.
I'll stand corrected then. Dinya it is.

I think you were right the first time:
