There's an awful lot of pearl clutching going on about a national anthem. The lad who started it was half way through a bottle of MD20/20 and a seemingly never ending supply of cider. He started more songs about Marvelous Nakamba and John Carew.

He isn't a twat, just a lad who appeared to be enjoying himself. Singing your anthem in your own country, isn't a twattish thing to do, albeit not something we go into as Brits, compared to our puritanical cousins. It was likely a wind up, in the ground it certainly seemed to wind some of the Hibbbbbbs fans up. Hibbbbbbs fans sang about Lizzie being in a box- nobody cares/d. It's just silly football chanting; the whole culture is silly; why we care, why we bother, why we pay, why a couple hundred Villa fans are singing a Shakira song (I think it's her anyway) about Leon Bailey at full pelt in an Irish bar at midnight, much to the delight and amusement of some Canadians.

Lighten the fuck up, it's later than you think.

I didnt say the lad in Edinburgh was a twat, i said a lot of those outside of Anfield appeared in my opinion to be twats, i should of clarified, combining the bantzy national anthem wind up, crazy drunken kids, what a laff, with other classics about slums, looking in bins for something to eat, and signing on, brilliant fun. But as you say its all part of the culture, bantz and all that. The suns out in Brum, ill spend the remainder of the day lightening up.

You're getting upset about a song a few months ago and using bantz like some edgelord. Some of you give the impression you were born in your mid 50s with a taste for nutty mild, yet if you read this site long enough you get to enjoy tales of youthful hijinks. Not that a brief singing of GSTK is really that.

You are correct about the anthem, also I stick my hand up to being a twat on many occasions when I was young, yes he's enjoying himself like many of us in our younger days, worse things then worrying about a lad singing it

Re Bucket Hats.  I purchased mine whilst holidaying on the Norfolk Broads in 1970.  It is now exactly 53 years old and literally falling apart but every spring it makes its appearance for gardening purposes.  I love it almost as much as being a trend-setter.

And Digne doesn't play like that all the time because he is never afforded as much space to work in as he has the past two games.

I would also argue that he was allowed to be the attacking fullback for the first time in ages rather then Cash. You look at the Everton match and he was almost a winger when we were attacking.

Im not sure thats the first team he has "allowed" to be attacking, but he 'could' be more attacking & did almost become a winger in both recent games...

We do tend to set up with one attacking full-back, and a full-back who drifts into a back-three when required.  Since Moreno came, he's been the attacking one, and Cash has been more defensive-minded on the other flank.  I don't know what the stats would say, but I'd guess Cash's involvements in the final third have been far fewer since Moreno got into the team.  When Moreno got injured, Digne came in, but the attacking full-back role seemed to be rotated a bit more, with one or other of them being used more offensively.  The last two games, Digne has clearly been given more licence to get forward.  And to great success. Three assists in one European game would have him on the back pages if he was Alexander-Arnold.

Our away support is fantastic. But the dicks at Liverpool last season - the ones queuing up before the game, checking that the Liverpool fans they were taunting didn’t look hard enough to pile over and slap them - were embarrassing. Singing Hillsborough-related songs to kids and tourists - up there with kicking puppies as far as this pearl clutcher is concerned

Just a note, Bert makes us all happy and mad in almost equal measure. While the skill to win the penalty was great, the way he killed the ball from Diego’s (I think) brilliant long pass was sublime.
