The AFA and right-wing element at Villa lasted about five minutes.
I remember seeing some blokes who I guess we're in their 30s in Crombies and wearing roses trying to look intimidating at the Arsenal game on St George's Day 1994 ( the game where The Holte gave Ian Wright loads of stick because he would be suspended for the Cup Winners Cup Final and he then scored a last minute winner) and I never noticed them ever again.

What a bunch of absolute fannies… 😂

#SlaveMentality #RoyalRadges
#VillaForelockTuggers

Is there such hand wringing when the Rugby wankers sing it every year up there?  Facism indeed. They will sing Flower of Scotland or other such dirge down here and most will recognise it as the attempted wind up it is.

Some Celtic fan there trying to claim we're historically fascist, this the same club that were chucking bananas and much more at Mark Walters?
of course we are that's why we have the like of Paul McGrath and Peter McParland played for us and why we were followed by so many Paddy's from the Aston, Erdington and Perry Barr district and their children follow suit, let me at him hold me back, hold me coat

As a 2nd gen paddy from Erdington it irks me as well. Stench of nose bullshit is very strong here.
you mean me?

No brother, the 'Celtic' fan with the in depth knowledge of Villa fans political views in the 90's.

Thank you, they started to get on my tits with some of the shit they come out with and I follow them, although it's probably just a few like any other club support 👍👏

There's always some little part of the day that makes you chuckle. The prison van going past with the occupants banging on the inside, while being serenaded with going down, is probably that memory from yesterday afternoon.

Yes, the off-the-cuff stuff like that is often far funnier.

That's the second time in a week someone has referred to Irish people as "paddy's" [sic]. Can you stop it? If nothing else it somewhat weakens your 'we're not racist' defence.
After enduring so much anti-Irish shit growing up in the late 70s and throughout the 80s I completely agree with this.

The only time the dreadful British anthem should be sang, is when playing the Aussies at Cricket.

Your blood pressure is through the roof because you were called out, in 2023, on use of a highly prejudiced term applied to a whole people?

A truly uninspiring piece of music, thankfully brief and not something to be proud of at all IMO

It was like an exhibition game or a dads against lads game.  Lee Johnson is still a vile ******. Well done Ollie for the goals.  Why hasn't Digne played like those last 2 games, all the time?

Lee Johnson was whining to the 4th official at one point about how Emery was standing. He was stationary in his own technical area...

And Digne doesn't play like that all the time because he is never afforded as much space to work in as he has the past two games.

If English people in England (Liverpool fans) get wound up by hearing other English people singing the English national anthem, i'm all for it. Love watching people getting triggered by such nonsense.

Yep

It was absolutely embarrassing both inside and outside of Anfield in May. I’d had a few beers in the sun and even with all that, i couldnt bear the idea I was associated with a bunch of twats. The idea that its all just bantz is bullshit as well, for a lot its wrapped up purposely or even only half knowingly with right wing shite.

And Im Irish decent and would rather me or mine are not referred to as paddys either. Irish will do.

I would also argue that he was allowed to be the attacking fullback for the first time in ages rather then Cash. You look at the Everton match and he was almost a winger when we were attacking.

There's an awful lot of pearl clutching going on about a national anthem. The lad who started it was half way through a bottle of MD20/20 and a seemingly never ending supply of cider. He started more songs about Marvelous Nakamba and John Carew.

He isn't a twat, just a lad who appeared to be enjoying himself. Singing your anthem in your own country, isn't a twattish thing to do, albeit not something we go into as Brits, compared to our puritanical cousins. It was likely a wind up, in the ground it certainly seemed to wind some of the Hibbbbbbs fans up. Hibbbbbbs fans sang about Lizzie being in a box- nobody cares/d. It's just silly football chanting; the whole culture is silly; why we care, why we bother, why we pay, why a couple hundred Villa fans are singing a Shakira song (I think it's her anyway) about Leon Bailey at full pelt in an Irish bar at midnight, much to the delight and amusement of some Canadians.

Lighten the fuck up, it's later than you think.
