Great, so we've got a £33m asset reducing to £0 on our books.
But he's nice, awwwww.

What a strange way to look at supporting a football team! McGinn is also a diminishing asset.

We've had a lot more than 4 years out of McGinn and he only cost £2m in the first place!

I think every fan the last 4 years has been looking at footballers like that. It's the way of the FFP, SCR, PSR, ITV, BBC, DVD, PS3 and KFC world.

Would be embarrassing if Villarreal said they don’t know what he’s talking about.

Oh dear I guess I don't give a fuck about any of this.

NB: I do find his attachment to his club admirable, and I don't care what anyone else thinks.

Well I haven’t, because I think it’s weird.

Yeah, you shit. Sign a new deal so we can make £20m when we sell you in two years.

We have him a contract and he's honouring it. That's how it should work.

Football is more than numbers and spreadsheets. Or should be.

Yep, this is fine by me, everyone knows what's happening with plenty of time to prepare and he's been part of our most successful run of seasons in decades including our first trophy for 30 years. I have a lot more respect for players who do this than the ones who sign a new deal and then start angling to get away 6months later.

He’ll be 32 then?

I bet Villa will try and get him to signup for another year or so anyway.

A man of class both on and off the pitch. I love his loyalty to Villareal.

Just wonder if Brum has let him down with quality of ingredients for his Sunday paellas.
He needs to get himself down the fish market.
And down Stratford Road, Sparkhill for exotic vegetables and spices.
