Anyone can reduce a wage bill when you totally gut a squad. How is that an achievement? He's one who built it up in the first place to 95% and now he's selling them all off. I could do that.
been playing Championship Manager, mate?

Don't be a moron. I questioned how it's an achievement reducing a wage bill by gutting a squad.

I like being a moron 😎 I play to my strengths.

Gutting a squad of overpaid shite isn’t that easy - and he’s done it. People wasn’t exactly queueing up to take crap like Moreno, Dendoncker etc off our hands.

Ignore the selling players part then, for now.

What about everything else? The time and money invested buying them immediately shipping out young players?

The buying players in the wrong positions?

And I know, wheeling and dealing like Chelsea do is a part of the game but they live in a completely different financial reality to us and also buy plenty for their first team.

Then what about the fact this is starting to look very much like what happened at Roma?

The clear slopy shouldered attitude problem on the pitch tonight was incredibly disturbing. I don’t see how anyone can not feel that. I can put up with losing badly, happens to everyone, but all the above plus the  social media comments of some of our players make it clear that - whoever is at fault - we’ve got a serious problem behind the scenes at the club.

Ramsey wasn’t overpaid shite though.

Of course it’s not easy.

It all feels a bit Villa 83-85, just with PSR replacing Doug.

There isn't a problem behind the scenes, its centre stage.

There's perhaps nothing unique in clubs having players they dont want; there absolutely is something unique in a club as relatively successful as we have been being forced to act like we dont have two pennies to rub together.

Transfer sagas and cloudy summers have an impact. Look at 50% of the current bottom 4 for confirmation.

Yep the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

We are still reliant on Dean Smith’s signings for all Monchi’s wheeler dealing.

Underselling Douglas Luiz, bringing in numerous squad players who aren’t good enough, spending large amounts on Onana and Maatsen and to a lesser extent Malen and Guessand.

At some stage you just have to be honest and call it out!

To go against the grain a bit here, its now pretty much accepted here that we overpaid for Onana and Maatsen, whilst they haven't exactly pulled up any trees yet, Onana started very well and we paid the going rate for both of them. Onana is a regular in one of the top international and PL teams , Maatsen was in the previous years CL team of the season. We paid a lot for the pair of them, we'll pay a lot for the next players we buy from PL teams.

His new big idea seems to be 'players who weren't good enough for a Man United side that nearly got relegated'.

I'm fucking done man.

There needs to be some oversight on this.

Monchi may have been Emery’s choice as president of football operations (tail wagging the dog springs to mind there).

But make as many below average to outright bad deals as he has and Emery’s wishes shouldn’t enter into it.

I would assume Emery tells Monchi the areas he wants to strengthen and then the data analysts and scouts come up with options.

The concern is when we buy young players they seem to be quickly disregarded and loaned / sold begging the question why do we buy them in the first place?
