To be fair, if Man Utd called me, I wouldn't think twice either... to tell them to go and fuck themselves.

When Man Utd call with their 5 year contracts for older men at 200k a week you don’t think twice

He’s been given a 5 year contract at £200k a week. Seems believable to me. We got him for nowt, he did very very well and he’s now set for life.

We were not going to offer him anything like that and nor should we, even if we could afford it. We’ve had his best years, thanks and goodbye.

I'd be surprised if he got booed. I actually think he'll get a decent reception when he comes to VP.

Booing would be pretty depressing. If he’s got 5 years on around £200k can hardly blame him. Excellent player, but that’s nuts given his age.

Digne’s departure is perfectly understandable. Teilemans goong, less so and with the unveiling of our new shirt sponsor it’s turning into a shitty week.

I might be in the minority, but he joined us on a free, gave us three great years, won us a major trophy, and left the club in a better position than when he joined, all while earning us a decent fee - so he goes with my reluctant thanks.

Obviously I hope the worst for Man Utd as a club, but I hope he does perfectly well in a struggling side while being paid his massive contract for the next five years.

If he scores against us and kisses that badge, then all bets are off…

It is a contract of a lifetime.

One of the classiest footballers we will ever enjoy watching at Villa Park.

Already miss him.

I think it’s one of those you neither cheer nor boo.
Polite indifference.
Unless he scores against us of course.

Yep that’s the reaction for me. He’s been instrumental in our rise, not least setting us on the way to finally get across the line and win a trophy. He’s a big loss and we need to replace him well, but from his perspective I get the idea of a new challenge and that contract was something we would never have matched (rightly).

He obviously wasn't on board with UE's ambitions for Villa. £35m is a joke.

He's left us in a far better place than when he arrived. He's made a significant contribution to the best 3 years we've seen in 30 years. He cost us nothing & leaves us with the funds to replace him. He's had an offer too good to refuse & one we couldn't or would be mad to match.

When he comes back, I won't clap him nor boo him, as long as he doesn't disrespect us & I'm certain he won't.

Thank you Youri, but I hope your form turns to shite now.
