I don't have an Athletic subscription - is that full training with the squad, or 'back out on the grass' type training?

Not sure - but don't care.  He's not in the hospital or on a treatment table.  Woohoo!

As they mentioned there, he has been called up for the matches in the US.

We are starting to see a little more confidence creep in to the team with SJM back. A fit Youri is critical to our attacking intent. He just sees things others don’t. It would be a huge boost to get him back early.

Who said that? That would seem premature

What we need is for Youri and McGinn to play together and for us to absolutely tonk someone immediately. That would be like a magic spell has been cast on the team and the belief will come surging back.

Quote
Asked about Tielemans at Friday afternoon’s pre-match media conference, Unai Emery said: “He has started to train with us, individually he did one progression until today.

“Today is the first time he trained with us and he’s feeling good.

“He’s important, I don’t know if he’s going to be in the squad for Sunday.

“In case he is, try to progressively get him again with us.”

Thanks - that’s really positive. I’d be highly surprised if he’s involved though. Bit worried about Belgium now.

Great news if he is nearly ready.

Massive boost for remainder of season. Him feeding Rogers and Ollie/Tammy makes is a different team.

Well, there are two ways to look at it. It could be a risk, and he might relapse with whatever ankle injury he had.  Or it could mean minutes in his legs and have him closer to match ready when comes back to us.

Personally, I would hope the medical professionals at Bodymoor and with Belgium would know enough not to risk any recurrence of his injury in what are, after all, merely friendlies before the World Cup.

But if he gets a couple of sub run-outs, and works out someof the rust while getting a few minutes under his belt I wouldn't be against the idea.
