This is surely a good thing that auggests his recovery is accelerated and he may even get some minutes, which again would be good for us.

Yep what better way to get for than by playing a meaningless friendly.

Not seen any suggestion that he’s even training. Just that he wants to join the group in the USA as captain. My fear is this means his return is further away.

If that's the case then it's even more unnecessary for him to travel.  He should be rehabbing at Bodymoor.

Yep, last thing you want to do with an injury is go flying for 8hrs.
He may have requested it, but it will be up to the medical staff to give him the nod.

But if we are worried about upsetting him (haven't we been trying to get him to sign an extension) then we might bend over backwards?

Then hopefully, he’ll realise the risk is too much and may put him back months missing the rest of the season and risk the World Cup.

I know we rightly don't have a lot of faith in Villa's backroom staff to make good decisions, but I'm sure the Belgian FA employs sufficiently qualified people to make an informed medical decision that it doesn't have to be put out to tender to our own amateur diagnostics unit on here.

The point is they have different interests in terms of timings than we do.

I think the interests of the player, club and country pretty much align. None of the parties will want to risk anything that might jeopardise his recovery.

Amateur diagnostics unit, is it?

A disgusting challenge, no intention of getting the ball, just taking Bouba out. I'm furious, the useless twat of a referee.

I agree.

Judging from his reaction, the knee is banjaxed.

Frank sez, they are too slick for their own good, get in to em and fuck em up. See how they like them apples.

I don't have an Athletic subscription - is that full training with the squad, or 'back out on the grass' type training?
