Good grief, had a look on their forum.

Never trust a team with 'Albion' in its name.

The best comment on there is the one about the huge gulf between us.

1 point. Huge gulf.

What is it with teams like Brighton who get into the Premier League and immediately think they're important? This attitude of we're really great and clubs like Villa and Everyon with 140-odd years of top-level history are lower than them.

The town is pretty arrogant and up itself. Sees itself as a trendy London suburb on the sea
Brighton is a great town.
They had fans joining in the singing outside the Holte.
Of course they have some twats, but so do we.
And they stood and applauded the HEITS bits, which I thought was good.

Brighton is a lovely place, agreed, went there for a couple of days last summer, really liked it.

Their Japanese fans here are the same. Wankers. I've enjoyed today immensely.

About 150 students crammed into a lecture hall this morning. They know I'm Villa. They usually love to talk about Brighton. Today, they were aloof and silent.

So for the first 10 minutes or so, I just showed the match highlights. Felt wonderful.
Ace! I do that too. Did they agree that their players' antics were a blight on the game?

A huge amount of bitterness on the Brighton forum.

I don't get why. Surely the satisfaction of your highest ever league finish and first European campaign are going to dwarf any annoyances you might have with a referee of a game that cannot affect your overall league position?

I think we piss their fans off because we have that really annoying habit of beating them almost every time we play them. 16 games unbeaten against them I believe. And as Ads said, 1 point in front of us is a hell of a gulf!!

Probably put this in the wrong place but those two defeats against Fulham really have shaped our future.

Well, it was sold out on the site days ago and presumably Brighton sold out their section, so...

I’m more bothered by these upstarts, who TF do they think they are!

“Dreadful performance from the referee, clearly not up to it. Couldn’t handle all the fouling out there and his decisions were totally random at times. Not a good performance today, we looked sluggish at times, we really need to find a way to overcome these teams like Villa, Newcastle, Everton and Forest who play dirty, direct football roared on by a ferocious crowd, we seem to crumble in these type of games.”

😳
Mate in few seasons they will go the way of Southampton. Let them enjoy their day.

They won at Villa Park for the first time a couple of seasons ago so not sure about 16 unbeaten?

I like the ferocious crowd description though
