I agree Sam.

The lion also faces right on the original version of our crest & yet most people hate that on the current circle crest, so having a nod to our roots tends to be something that we evidently flip flop on as a fanbase.

Personally, I despised the Luke kit.

I don't despise that adidas kit, albeit Im not a huge fan, but I don't despise it because there is a nod to our blue sleeves with the adidas stripes.

But I much prefer a clear marked version of our most famous claret body & blue sleeves. And no fucking yellow. Anywhere... 😂

I think the biggest thing that is irritating me about this particular shirt along with the crest, if they are as we think they are, is that we are the most unrecognisable branding wise as Aston Villa, right at the point where we will be getting the most exposure.

Thirded. I didn't like the Luke kit, even the colours were off- the only thing I like about it is that we got promoted in it.

I wasn't a fan of the 1993-95 stripes, the 99-00 wider stripes or the 2001 kit and the Lerner chequered pattern from 2010 can get in the bin.

Our classic kits are the ones we had for most of the twentieth-century and in the modern era the 1976-81, the 81-82, the 89-90, the 92-93, the 95-97 (our last truly great kit in my opinion) and maybe a couple of the Nike ones.

Do we need a new "thread" (geddit?) as we're now moving forwards in time and closer to our deaths from 23/24 to 2024/25?

Nice one, it had me in stitches.

So it seams.

Bad news is that all claret shirt with yellow stripes is being advertised for sale on DH Gate so maybe it is true this is what we'll be rocking up in next season, but annoyed if that's the case - why no claret and blue version of what the Gunners have?

I'm hoping the replica kits will be available for men in XXL maternity because nothing looks worse than a hairy beer gut poking out of the underside of a shirt when you're trying to eat your lunch.

Where is that then? Do you have a link as I can't see it... Please don't let it be that. At the very least, SURELY the yellow should at least be gold for our 150th year?

That run of shirts between 89-98 is my favourite. I always used to favour 1992-93 but as I've got older the two  before it have started to catch it up in my preferences.

I'm hoping for an all chocolate brown away kit this year for personal reasons.

Are the shoulder stripes blue or white on that supposedly leaked shirt?

That luke kits my favourite ever villa home one.  Its epic. Love the thick stripes on it

Loved the claret, the thick stripes, the quality material, and as I've said before, it's a bona fide future classic.

Haha - should be a marketing tagline for the sale of larger shirts sizes.
