I seem to remember lots of people buying the West German Italia 90 shirt back in the day. It was a good looking shirt, yes. But a bit painful to see it worn.

I think it's pretty normal to collect shirts, nice ones.

Incidentally, on Grindr there are people collecting footie kits who don't even like football, the filthy sods. If I have a pic up of me in a Villa top I get a lot of people assuming it's a fetish.

I'd say there is nothing wrong buying a souvenir from what turned out to be a great European tie (imagine that had been in the Champion's League, the added 'status' would have had it in the annals. Even so, people will speak of Martinez's antics and Cash's vital goal in years to come), and why not buy a Lille shirt rather than a half and half scarf?

Yep that makes sense. I’ve always hankered after a Feyenoord shirt and if I’d have had time I’d have nipped to a charity shop to see if I could pick one up cheap when I did a drive by De Kuip to recreate old pics last year.
Did have that plan in Amsterdam as I wasn’t going to be spending the day drinking but got a bit tired after a day of traipsing.

I’d not have thought of picking up a Lille shirt but after that trip’s happy/dramatic crescendo could imagine it now, yep far preferable to the half and half scarf - surely the only time it’s possibly justifiable when you are verging on tourist status at a European away.

I’ve quite enjoyed wearing obscure shirts once in a while, you know you won’t meet many others wearing Kampala’s finest (SC Villa 4th one point separating the top 4, 6 games to go just checked).

Risso unless we progress to Athens again no chance to belatedly deliver your SC Villa shirt this season, I’ll have the kids Monday night :/

I have a whole bunch of rugby shirts that I've picked up for training, off the top of my head I currently have 4 different national teams, 3 english club sides and 2 french, I had a connacht shirt as well but I gave that one away.

*fumes silently*

but pleased you didn't spell it Connaught.

I'm really intrigued as to what caused the fuming here, I hope it wasn't something silly on my part. For what it's worth I've had anUlster hirt in the past as well, I generally just buy what I can get cheap with only a couple (tigers and sarries) that I won't consider.

Just kidding that I was hurt it was only the Connacht one that you chose to give away. (Being a proud Connacht man)

It might get more serious if someone tries to claim we don't have the best provincial flag in Ireland.

Ah, in that case, I gave it to one of our colts whos family are from there but he's never been and it was the first time he'd seen someone wearing one of the shirts.

Looks like this might be the new shirt. It’s ok I suppose.

Looks ok.  I was hoping for a more retro feel and certainly the trefoil Adidas logoo.

Doubt it. I’m not ITK, but was told that the drop shadow was never a thing and the AV150 is on the back.

Those shoulders and how they’d go in to blue sleeves look all wrong to me. Also a bit “West Ham”.

Looks a bit dark to me.

I thought Nike nailed the Claret when they did our kits (about 2008-2010ish).
