No Europe for us.

Comprehensively blown it.

We play Spurs next week, but yeh it’s looking more and more like we’ve blown it

Blown what exactly? Nobody thought we’d be anywhere near where we are now and the fact we’ve just fallen at the final hurdle is not blowing it to me

When you get this close you have to finish the job. We can look back after the season and say 8th or 9th after the way we started is admirable. But there will be a very empty feeling if miss out after getting so close

Have we been found out?

No. More likely ran out of steam.

Or, had no room for slips thanks to Gerrard.

Pat fuck face Murphy on Radio 5 Live - Wolves fully deserved the win.

He just loves to see Villa lose.

We’ve come from relegation fodder to where we are now in 6 months. A monumental achievement by anyone’s standards. We don’t have that class yet and have been playing with a very small squad. There’s no way that form could continue forever and with the bench we’ve got. Every team in this league suffers a few bad games and this is what it is.

Yeah have to beat Spurs now to have any chance....but that was always going to be the case wasn't it?

61 points would still give us a chance of finishing 7th I reckon. Big ask.

Big Jon on. Buendia fucked off he’s coming off

To run around a bit and get booked.
Let's get behind him eh?

Don’t be stupid AlexAlex

Yeah I'm sure hell be devastated when he logs on later.

Can’t quite work out who’s taking the piss out of who here 🤔

I'm not taking the piss out of anyone, he's got energy but very raw and looks a bit hot headed.

That fact I've written that on a forum shouldn't really affect his performance either way.
You were hardly getting behind him were you
Would it have made a difference? I'm writing words on the Internet, I'm not in the crowd shouting abuse at him.

The lack of options for us has definitely come home to roost.

Amongst other things, we look tired.

He's not wrong though, reminded me of the chelsea game, but in reverse. I think it is more running out of steam than being found out, but a little bit more variety in the play wouldn't do any harm, it's a bit predictable as it stands.

Emery has done all he can with this lot, the pedestrian way we play out of the back is agonizing, we just don't have players that can play that way. We have had a good run but i'm not sure that Europe was going to be too much too soon.

Jesus,  glad I'm normally at the away games after reading this thread.  Far too much negativity. We dominated the game but just couldn't put that one chance away. Still plenty to play for and pretty much a full squad.

No it makes no difference.Just disappointing. I've stood/sat next to too many Villa fans with your outlook though.

How many times does Buendia lose the ball when being challenged from behind
I have said it before & I will day it again, Buendia is one of the weakest links we have. Constantly loses the ball & very rarely does anything creative with it. I cannot wait to replace him with someone of better quality.
