My iptv has started showing full replays of games on loop, so I'm watching again.

A paid for iptv subscription. Not sure if this is allowed to be discussed?

Apologies for a bit of a change of tack, but given the timing I thought I may as well post here. Antiques Roadshow at 8pm this evening is from Aston Hall, and includes memorabilia from a former Villa player.

Thanks for the heads up.

Includes a few good shots of Villa Park.

I won't give the spoiler re the former player.

A £30m Champions League centre half who probably isn't ready in Carlos, Coutinho, Bailey, Cash and Kamara- all out. We'll need them for the run in, but its quite something how well we're doing with such a threadbare squad.

Another 3 game week coming up, we could do with these guys being available.

I'm a bit surprised that Carlos hasn't been given a ten minute run-around at the end of some of the more comfortable victories to help get back into things.

Fair enough mate, that looks like a heartfelt apology so best if everybody moves on.

Accepted and agree.

I don’t think that’s how Emery is wired. My guess is that he sees it very much a case that a game must to be managed from start to finish in the most complete fashion possible. I bet he was very pleased with yesterday because we did that. We didn’t let our focus drop. That may well be the reason he was unhappy about Martinez going up for the corner against Arsenal.

Bringing on a sub just for game time doesn’t necessarily serve that purpose.

Single club city so bound to have numbers.
Newcastle has lower population than Stockport.

That’s bollocks.

A word on Ollies headed assist, I was under the impression that he just stretched and headed it wherever he could and we were a bit fortunate it felt to JJ. Watching it back now he put it on a fucking plate for him to smash if in and it was 100% meant. Superb assist.

Not quite...

LGA populations:
Newcastle 169k
Gateshead 200k
Total 369k

Stockport 295k
Trafford 235k
Total 530k

Stockport is a conurbation within Greater Manchester.
So it’s population is irrelevant in this context.

I have been absent from the site some time and haven`t been to a game for a while - due to ongoing health issues
My son (VCTM jnr) took me to our local in Formby yesterday as a treat and we met up with a fellow Brummie who lives close to us
I was totally blown away by the way we took the game to the Geordies from the off - it was a joy to watch.
After the game I said to my son that the performance was one of the best I had ever seen - it was a total team effort
In 60 + years of watching the Villa that was up there as one of the most enjoyable
It is indicative that so many of us elder fans have expressed similar opinions
The way we played the game reminded me of the Ron Saunders 110% effort era, where every player gave their all for the team
Exciting times ahead
UTV

Agree with the above,
Good to have you back as well 👍👍
