I'm beginning to enjoy the opposition having an off day.

Has anybody checked in on Andy “why can’t we all be football friends” Macfarlane?

He's been busy sending his deepest apologies to the Newcastle fans for the result yesterday.

He didn’t get back from Sunderland until late last night so he’s having a lie in.

Again, missed this because of work and had to watch MOTD highlights. I was really confident that we’d win but what a result. I was getting really fed up with the media’s attitude of “Villa have done well but they’re playing Newcastle now” Absolutely outstanding performance from everyone

I predicted a defeat on here, would've taken a draw pre match as would my mates but I did point out that we have Emery so the potential win was always possible.

As misanthropic Brummies we take some convincing at times but after yesterday I'm convinced. We are on the verge of something very, very special.

What a fucking twat! He reminds me of when I was an undergraduate student, we were out and about and a girl had a funny turn and fell over. We stopped to assist and somebody (could have been Andy's dad for all I know) ran up shouting "Let me through I'm an undergraduate!"*

*I was WTFing so much that I didn't ask what he was reading. Media Studies most likely.

They are a nothing club, who have won fuck all for about 70 years, had 20k average attendances pre-90's yet are self proclaimed "amazing fans",  but I do enjoy beating them purely because of pure & utter deluded chumpish clueless twatting wankers like those on that thread... 🤣
To be fair we also had 20k average attendances pre-90s, that was just English football. The fact is that they have always been a relatively well supported club, albeit in a one club city. I agree that there is a media narrative that some clubs have amazing fans, and others don’t. It normally correlates with a stereotype about socio-economics, and not having much else to do, which is disappointing.
Newcastle are a phenomenally well supported side given the only people who can remember them winning anything are grandparent-age folk. I don't know much about the relative attendances in the 80s, but from what I can see they've been getting 50k+ crowds on a regular basis for 25 years.

Take away every other club with about sixty miles of Villa Park except one from a place where the locals won't have anything to do with Birmingham for reasons going back to the civil war, give us a fawning national media and see what gates we get.
Population 300,004 against 1.15m.

And the surrounding area?
Birmingham has the largest conurbation outside London. Dwarfs Tyneside. I'm all for giving them stick, but keep it real.

I'm all for not giving a fuck what they say, sing, blog vlog, post or do. All that matters is they got fucking steam-rollered by Emery's Mean Machine. Totally spanked all over the park.

Also, "Have you ever won the European Cup?"

I have been absent from the site some time and haven`t been to a game for a while - due to ongoing health issues
My son (VCTM jnr) took me to our local in Formby yesterday as a treat and we met up with a fellow Brummie who lives close to us
I was totally blown away by the way we took the game to the Geordies from the off - it was a joy to watch.
After the game I said to my son that the performance was one of the best I had ever seen - it was a total team effort
In 60 + years of watching the Villa that was up there as one of the most enjoyable
It is indicative that so many of us elder fans have expressed similar opinions
The way we played the game reminded me of the Ron Saunders 110% effort era, where every player gave their all for the team
Exciting times ahead

That's all very well but what did Klopp say when you passed him on the way back from the pub?

Only joking. I hope your health improves as much as Villa have improved their game. All the best.

I’ve been watching Villa since 1975. I can not think of a more commanding, complete team performance.

Middlesbrough 81 for me, but yesterday was as good.
Liverpool 5-1 demolition for me. 76?
But then we spoiled it by having our bad half.🙄
