WM were convinced it was a handball by Buendia that var would be checking. They seemed a bit surprised to find out it was for a possible offside.
Wilford the nose. Therefore his opinion is redundant.

Tommo doesn't do much to make you think he's not from around these parts, either.

I watched the extended highlights on Sky. Talk about making a silk purse out of a sows ear the edit makes it look like Leicester had far the better of Villa and yet every statistic tells a very different story.

Leicester were really poor. They reminded me of what we were like under someone like Lambert. Confidence obviously very low and it told from their team selection. Tactically they were a shambles, reminded me of Moyes' tactics against us recently. Let our CBs have uncontested possession with a half hearted press from a forward whose legs are gone. Stand off the likes of Luiz constantly in midfield to do as he liked. Maddison kept coming in field from his posting on the right where Moreno had a field day at times. The only tactic they had, which did work well to be fair, was the cross field ball to Barnes. I know Young struggled but I doubt Cash would have been much better.

I really don't think we played all that well last night as a result. Leicester were very much there for the taking. Granted Barnes scored a cracker when we were completely on top but it took us an awful long time to make the extra man count. It took a dreadful mistake from Ndidi and Traore thankfully did the rest. Even at that we made a bit of a mess of seeing it out but thankfully Watkins kept his head.

Think we can play a lot better against Forest.

The card the ref put back into his pocket after he changed the decision was yellow.

It was, you're right.
Watched it in a pub and we were convinced the ref flashed a red. However I've just watched sky highlights and it was definitely a yellow. Watkins was pushed in the back and fell over. Their player fell forward and it was his hand that knocked the ball out. So at least var did get this one spot on. For Ollie's goal it does look suspiciously like hand ball by Buendia but its really hard to tell for sure. We've been on the wrong end of some shocking decisions by var so I'm happy to take it and move on. Also I would take Harvey Barnes in a heartbeat. He's electric when they get him in the right place with the ball which is bearing down on a full back with space to attack. Unai would have that boy playing regularly England within months.

It's the first time I've been to King Power.  Feels a bit small doesn't it?  That drum is horrific, I'd be gutted if we ever go down that route.  I thought it was interesting their main support is placed next to the away fans rather than at an end.  Does that happen often?  Not sure what the thinking is there but in fairness there was a spell when they created quite a bit of noise.

UTFV.

There was some brilliant old school back and forth chanting between the 2 sets of supporters last night that  came over very clearly on the telly.

Didn't we once refuse to allow them at a game against them? Maybe I'm imagining things.

I haven't heard a single peep from Leicester supporting mates since our win. It's wonderful.

Clappers, music after a goal, a drum. All the hallmarks of a no mark shit team.

Pretty sure a foul of any kind by the "assisting" player would have been checked for and it was passed as ok. It was just the angle of the camera, player and ball that made it look like he used his hand when he just angled his chest.

Vicki Sparks on MOTD commentary mentioned Buendia's "handball" four times while describing the build-up to the first goal, making it conclusively sound like we'd got away with it. The reverse angle clearly shows Buendia's chest leaning into the ball.

I don't know if the chant of the season has been mentioned. There was a Virgin Media outage, turnstiles opened late, no food or drink on sale.
"You're going down with your Wifi"

She's terrible, god knows who decided that she had a voice for commentary.

It was a funny atmosphere at first.  Really loud music right up till KO made it impossible to build any atmosphere before the game.  Then the drum kicked in straight away, although I couldn't tell what it was at first as it was just incoherent noise (not really accompanied by any singing).  I honestly thought it was interference from the speakers for a while.  I think it put the Villa fans off a bit - it took us a while to get into our stride.

With no food or drink being available (supposedly because their wifi was down), it all made for a really odd start to the game.
