I have found this week that you don’t need to have people in your ‘network’ in order to allocate tickets to them, you just need their fan ID & surname.
It’s quicker & easier for the people in your network because you just need to click on their name, but you can add anyone’s ID into your order.
I believe that everyone needs a fan ID now though. They like to try and know who’s there.

I think the special permission is required to allow you to 'manage' someone else's seat and they yours, to do stuff like relocate your seats as a group without each of you having to show up at or ring the ticket office all at the same time. My bruv and I used it to get our old seats together in the UT in the post-Bruce upsurge and to move us a dozen seats along when his nipper was lucky enough to bag a season ticket when we came up so he wouldn't have to sit on his own!

Not sure this will help. I have a “trusted relationship “ with the two people I sit with( my brother & my mate) . To get this I had to email the ticket office with my client ref number and state I was happy for them ( client refs names and  their email details they signed up with) to order tickets for me . They had to do the same . We are all season ticket holders , but my mate who isn’t has done this with his other half and worked okay.
I've ordered tickets for several people, most recently yesterday and I've never had to do this.

Me neither

I must be on the naughty step then !

Also worth noting that you can only buy for others if they are also eligible in that window. So in BE's situation he would only be able to buy a ticket on his mate's ref (assuming his mate isn't a member) on general sale.

If I've understood that correctly, then that's a very significant restriction, isn't it? ie until match tickets go on general sale, you cannot actually use your claret membership to buy a ticket for someone who is not him/herself a claret member?

Correct. You can only allocate a ticket that you have bought to someone else who is eligible themselves. So when you buy a ticket on the day it goes on sale to members, you can only allocate it to another member.

That's right.  But just to clarify a ST holder can get one for anyone with an ID a few days before general sale (but after the Claret members window).  I've done this a quite lot and there's always seats available in the upper Trinity and Upper Witton

The network thing is a red herring that appeared about the time of one of the Play Off Finals. As long as you have someone's surname and Fan ID (Anyone can get one), you can buy a ticket on their behalf when eligible. However, every ticket needs to have a Fan ID allocated (as I think has been said above)

Thanks everyone - looks like I’m going to need to get him registered for a FanID (even though he’s an Arsenal supporter…)
Cheers.

There's no cost and it's a 5-minute job.  But you can always borrow an ID number if it becomes a problem, I've got one you could use.

My niece is looking for 2 tickets for the Man Utd home game on 10 Feb, she found a company called Seat Pick online, who are selling tickets for £120/£130, does anybody know anything about Seat Pick are they legit?

Just looks like it searches other secondary ticket sellers. They must be season ticket holder seats (if they exist), because no other tickets have gone on sale yet.
