Yeah but he’s still from Coventry

( says the guy who lived there for 5 years)

I don't know whether he's said something in the past, or just enjoyed scoring against us a little bit too much but it's thought that because he's an ex-Coventry lad that he's anti-Villa like many of them from around there tend to be.

I don't really pay too much heed to those rivalry stuff, they're everywhere in football. Deeney seems to be a decent bloke now after early tribulations, his enjoyment scoring against us doesn't change that, not for me anyway.

I quite liked Deeney as well, I'm sure he gave the Holte a little clap at the end of the game against Watford when there had been a bit of banter during the game and he got a bit of a clap back.

Or maybe I'm imagining that, hard to say these days with my shocker of a memory! Sometimes I'm sure something happened when actually I dreamt it. Too much parting when I was younger.

Think about Deeney is he knows if you give a bit you must be able to take a bit back it works both ways, fans also would do well to understand that

blues don’t like us we don’t like blues that’s the way it should be as long as it doesn’t get abusive or offensive, Deeney walks that line well

Not offensive or abusive? Really ?
It’s both and always will be.

I’ve got loads of time for Deeney. You can’t help what you’re born into but he manages to play the pantomime villain whilst also managing to give Villa a level of respect. Paul Tait he is not.

If I remember right his brother was with Villa for years so I suspect that changed his attitude from the normal Bluenose to the more 'bantz' attitude he has.

Aye, same.

Assume some of his mates must be Villa fans.

Maddison is a very talented dick. Even the Cov fans I know well love him and take the piss I equal measure. He's miles better than Buendia though, and would have been a brilliant signing for us. Spurs have made him their focal point and put very talented players around him. They will be top 4 I reckon.

One player who I wouldn't mind us going for at some point is Lamperty at Brighton. Looks like he can play both right back and as a winger. Not sure how much they would want for him though.

Yep he was underrated tbh. Didn’t he get, or get close to getting an England cap at the height of his Watford powers?

You are correct Golden. He scored in front of the Holte in a Villa 2-1 win. Pulled a face as if to say 'that's going to hurt...you'll not like that'...we scored a last minute winner (Mings?) and the Holte were giving giving it 'Deeney whats the score?'

El Ghazi is a free agent..... I know he was inconsistent but under Emery I reckon he'd do a half-decent job, particularly as Buendia is out and Coutinho is likely to be gone too. I'm thinking more for Europa Conference games, but as he's free?
