Everton spending £45m on Alex Iwobi when he was a promising attacker at Arsenal seemed utterly nuts.

Fulham spending £22m on him, with a year left on his contract, as a terrible central midfielder seems far more nuts.
Christ, £22m for Iwobi?  I suppose that's relegation rival tax, but crazy all the same.

Brentford have signed Maupay on loan from Everton. That's an odd one.
They sell him for £20m and then get him back in on loan 4 years later.

RAWK have locked their Salah thread. Brilliant.
To be honest it would annoy me if they got £175m for a 31 year old.  But what price wrecking your season on the last day of the transfer window?

I'd also be concerned that they may want to spend a chunk of it on Dougie.

Be even funnier if they end up selling him after our window shuts.

I don't think Ittihad are going to just give up if they're already up to 150m, and their window closes in a week.

Agreed, would prefer if they didn't get it even if he is great player.

Is it just coincidence that Liverpool are the team seemingly being "targeted" the most by Saudi clubs this window? Does it benefit anyone in our own league to have them destabilised to such a degree?

Makes a pleasant change that Liverpool are on the receiving end of the player unsettling. It'd be great if he goes today, Liverpool would be in meltdown.

Last time something like this happened they swapped a top form Torres for Andy Carroll.

That was hilarious.  What did they pay, £40m or something crazy like that?

Chelsea still spending insane amounts. I really don't get how they hope to avoid FFP regulations.
Villa's spending in this window will be quite modest in comparison! Anyone worked out our net spend so far for this window. I doubt it exceeds £40m??

I think you might be reading a bit too much into it. Probably just that their players are a bit more high profile.

I mean yeah, I did think that too, and I don't think the potential benefactors of Saudi interference would be that bothered about Liverpool specifically.

Is Jordan Henderson high profile though? 🤔
