I don’t think we’re going to sign anyone of note before the window ‘slams shut.’ I think if we were going to, we would have done by now. I think the sales we’ve seen of the young players is to create financial space for the future and not necessarily an indication of an incoming.

So here we are again, going into a season short. Maybe Duran and Kellyman are more ready than perhaps thought? Either way, I think we’ll come undone later in the season with either injuries or fatigue catching up. Even accounting for Emery’s brilliance in tactics and managing the demands of cup competitions.

Weird knack of scoring big goals off the bench.

It's only three months until the January transfer window opens. Before then we may indeed have some injuries, but we will also see the return to fitness of several players. Indeed we already have Dendonker and Traore back available (both of whom are more than good enough for back up and to play in the Europa Conference league).

We also have the chance to blood decent young players at 17/18 years old in the cups, offering a path into the team if they do well. This is better than loaning them out until they are 20-22 and selling them.

As fans we will always want more signings than we get, but better that than having a bloated mess like Chelsea.

In any event I do think we will see a player come in if Coutinho goes.

David Fairclough - without the ginger hair. Mind you he is a professional footballer so may not be true all of the time.

I think it has been a good window for us, of course we could point to Back up GK RB or centre forward but we have so much talent and a great manager.

which is difficult enough so far from the pitch and so little room in the dug out.

It’s forever ‘the next window’ that all our problems will be sorted. You can cut the club some slack for what happened to Bunedia and Mings. Nobody could have seen that coming. But we’ve needed an alternative/completion to Ollie since last January and Olsen is an awful alternative to Martinez. If one of those gets injured we’re screwed. But beyond that, assuming they stay fit, the demands you’re putting on those players to play pretty much every game will see them fatigued as the season goes on. Especially if we’re going to go deep in a cup completion or two. Plus the extra 20 minutes per game that seems to be added on right now by the officials. There’s potentially a lot of games before January to manage.

Everton are back in talks with Leeds over the signing of Wilfried Gnonto.

The club have not given up on signing the winger, who is one of their primary targets this summer.

Leeds have maintained that he is not for sale.

Gnonto has been reintegrated into the squad after handing in a formal transfer request earlier this month.

I like this player. Shame he'll be back in the Championship next year

A truck winger but a tad over rated, questionable attitude. Small man syndrome.

I think I'd stay at Leeds if Everton were my only other option.

Me too. He'll get more from a season under Farke than Dyche too.

As well as we’ve done so far in the window and as well as we’re playing I’d still hope something will happen today in addition to Longlet and especially if Coutinho goes. I’ve given up on the idea of a GK and RB as nothing seems to be in the pipeline (a mistake in my opinion and it makes letting Young go baffling) but another forward is a must considering how many unknown quantities and injury hazards we have in those positions.

Lenglet is the right back, he provides cover at CB which means Konsa can slide across.
