No we are not. We need our out and out striker to convert more otherwise we will not realise our full potential this season.

I'd love if Watkins scored every time he got the chance but ultimately as long as someone is scoring, and we're scoring more than the opposition, it's fine.

As long as Watkins stays around the 1 in 3 level or better we should be fine.

Yep and that’s my point across the season. The problem comes if he gets injured.

We've scored something like 13 goals in 4 games and only 3 of them have come from Watkins. Obviously the opposition matters when looking at that, but if goals are coming from elsewhere then I think we're alright.
.. and if you look at the goals, several come from pull-backs by Digne, Cash, Watkins, Diaby, etc. We do not appear to be playing the 'traditional' way of pumping balls into the 6 yd box and hoping the striker is there.
I'm relaxed that we are finding different and various ways of putting the ball in the onion bag, with players being both providers and scorers.

I think you are right Mister E we have no problem scoring goals. A lot of that is due to Watkins's position play and willing attitude. He would still be missed should his impeccable fitness record take a dip.

There's no doubt we'd sorely miss Watkins if he was out for a long spell, but that just proves his value as a player even when he's not scoring goals.

Too old, maybe Gio Reynard at Dortmund.

Exactly, these type of players don’t tend to hold the ball up and link play, you need to feed them the ball in the right place. It’s kind of old fashioned thinking.

It was fun in parts, but Gerrard couldn't get the best out of him (like most of the team), and injuries have hampered his time under Emery.

It sound's like Philippe Coutinho is joining Al-Duhail.

Despite calls from Betis and Besiktas, Philippe Coutinho decision remains to join Al Duhail in Qatar

Goodbye and thanks for the fish

Sorry for my out of date 1990s terminology. I'm over the moon with our attacking options with the single exception that at times young Ollie hits a bad patch, loses confidence and goes on a barn door with a banjo spree of missed chances. That or he gets injured. In that event I'm not sold on Duran as adequate alternative or cover. I feel we need an experienced option, in effect an Ings replacement. Someone used to putting them away, maybe getting on a bit but experienced.
