Fucking ruthless. Cash has one of his best games for us and we go out and sign (it seems, quite possibly) Clement Lenglet. No ruth whatsoever.

Isn't Langlet a centre back though?

Guess so. Just covers the defence better though dunnit?

It allows Konsa to be used as prime Hutton essentially, and means Digne and Moreno are going to be essentially crossing machines on the left.

I don’t think there is any doubt he is to cover Tyrone’s absence

Yeah, but Cash is a winger/striker now, so buying Lenglet and making Konsa right back has also solved our shortage further forward.

Piece of piss.

For me what the link to Langlet would mean is that Emery doesn't rate Chambers as a centre back.

I would say Konsa's going to play more games at right-back than we might think.

And that Emery doesn't rate Chambers for either right- or centre-back.

Chambers was an adequate stop gap and could still provide cover in extreme circumstances or maybe a £15M move to Luton/Bmouth would be good for the lad.

Might be a bit ambitious with 15m :-) maybe 5/6m??

Konsa is interesting, a lot of us had him down as limited with the ball but there's signs that he's throwing off the shackles and looking like he fancies himself as a player

It's not greedy to say the squad is quite thin for a 55+ game season, with 2 players out for the season. Lenglet is a decent signing as cover in defence, allowing Konsa to very much be defecto reserve right back. Hopefully a forward of some description can be found in the coming days to round off the squad a bit, especially if Coutinho leaves.

We've done this before, our squad for Europe is going to be limited to 22 players because we can't fill 3 of the homegrown(club) spots (we can fill in with players like Revan, Kellyman, etc but we don't need to name anyone who's under 21).

Right now we have 21 players who would need to be named in that 22 and we have a clear gap to fill in defence (which may be filled with Langlet) so, without anyone else being sold who are you going to leave out of the European squad to bring in another striker?

I've already said that if anyone leaves they'd need to be replaced so if Coutinho goes he needs replacing but it's still 1in, 1out not increasing the size of the squad.

And that Emery doesn't rate Chambers for either right- or centre-back.

Maybe he's considering him as a DM to cover Kamara? Or to bring on as an extra body to finish off games.

I got the impression that Cash played more forward on Sunday as a bit of masterstroke/unexpected tactic by Emery.

Lenglet is a left-sided centre half so this is a Mings replacement I’d think.

i agree - not sure he will be a regular there - especially not against 'The Mighty Reds YNWA'

We have. We also have 3 other competitions.
