Been linked with Ansu Fati from Barcelona this morning.

That would be a very exciting signing, unlikely but would be a real statement.

Can aslo see Torres or Felix happening late on as loan with option deal, would be happy with either or those.

I’d agree, any of them would be a welcome addition and think a loan to buy would be the way to go. They’re hope to move to a bigger club hasn’t materialised so it’s either move down the order or don’t play.

Fati, Felix, Torres and Ezzalzouli all linked regularly. I'd suggest the first three wouldn't consider us.

Given Watkins' comments in that Times article, I suspect we won't bother signing an out-and-out striker. If we bring anyone else in, it'll be a forward capable of playing anywhere up front.

The first two are both Mendes clients, so will probably be strongly advised on the best place for them.

If he can persuade Ruben Neves that joining Wolves in the Championship is a good idea, I reckon he can persuade Fati that Villa Park might be fun for a few years.

I watched Barca last week and the last player you mentioned looked quite good when he came on, very quick.

I am scratching my head, trying and struggling to recall the full list of players we've been linked with from Barcelona as well as the two major ones - Lipup, Fati.

Lipup, Fati .... Fati, Reggé?

Think that's the lot?

re whether we have enough cover here and there etc in terms of needing more incomings - worth remembering, we could find ourselves playing 70 games this season, compared to, what, 40/41 last year?

We are not just going to need cover on a 'if injuries' basis, we are going to need to be able to rotate significantly to play that many matches.

Completely. Diaby looks bloody awesome, but he's going to need a rest. Another versatile forward that can create the space his pace does is massively important.
