Why didn't you just point that out rather than your weird "you know exactly what I mean"  then?

Sometimes there's just no need to be so prickly.

Because I assumed you'd read the post above the one you quoted which explained what I meant.

Last two games we have been great, and shows the quality of players and coaches we have

My biggest concern currently is the lack of numbers.  Not sure if Unai likes a small squad - or there's a master plan (maybe most likely a bit of both).

Was sad to see some of these young players go - and despite being excellent today, I think we saw some of the limitations of the squad - ollie scores goals - but he'll miss key chances too - Konsa as a right back is ok, but offers nothing going forward, and the bench looked pretty weak.  I know we have players to come in, and Im sure there will be more incomings, but currently we feel short in most positions.

Dendonker, Moreno, Zaniolo, JJ, Coutinho all to come back, with Buendia and Tyrone longer-term.  Will have a much stronger squad and bench  when they come back and if big Tim is added.  I guess we have to be patient and wait for the more minor injuries to clear up.  If Digne is staying, I can only see one more player coming in, perhaps a right sided winger/forward.  Brennan Johnson?  I'd like cover for Cash and Kamara too but unlikely to happen I think.

I guess dendoncker is the cover for Kamara.  Im torn between what we need more, another attacking option, or a right back.  I think Unai goes for an attacking option as the squad players moved on are attacking

The Donk is a decent player, if there's not an obvious better replacement out there I'd keep him. We have plenty of games and his physical presence is handy to have in the squad. I don't get any sense that Iroegbunam has surpassed him in Emery's thinking either.

Something seems a bit amiss with his (Donk) lack of involvement this far this season, hopefully all ok with his kid and partner.

Maybe we could get Matt Targett on loan if Digne goes...

He'll know Konsa doesn't offer much going forward but when Cash isn't playing, we'll probably be playing more a back 3 and not want him going forward.

They do seem to be being pro-active in making sure that FFP doesn't become an issue in future. Right back may have to wait.

With the striker role, I still wonder whether there was any truth to the rumour that we had a deal done for Abraham. And whether it's something we'll revisit in January, once he's fit again.

As for Watkins missing chances...all strikers miss chances. Even the best ones and to get one better than Watkins would be mega money in today's market. Watkins record is probably closer to 1 in 2.5 than 1 in 3 now.

Unlikely to be homesickness when he's been away from France as long as he has.

It doesn’t work like that though.

Perhaps there are things going on at home that triggered the homesickness?
He might well want to go back to France..He' probably fed up of shit pubs serving fried food and stuff like that.

He could just buy himself a microwave and get himself down to Iceland. Problem solved. 😝

What about Hugo Lloris as back up keeper? Probably on big wages but wants to leave Spurs and Lazio have apparently dropped their interest.

Think re Tammy - that might well be true.  Watkins is great - and I agree with what your saying, but Ollie could still get injured - and he isn't the most clinical - he gets goals - but I never feel that when hes one on one, that he is likely to score, and it feels like in key games that could come back to haunt us.

Like you say - there's a good chance we couldn't afford a better striker - but I would be concerned if we had to rely on Duran for more than a game or two.

He's committed more unforced errors than Olsen the last couple of years. He's gone down the dumper, not a Top 40 artist anymore.

I read today that he didn't want to go to Lazio to be a back-up.

Just realised he was in goal for the 6-1 loss to Newcastle.
