Better than the current guy should be it.

The level of Olsen is so laughably poor, that shouldn’t even be that difficult.

I don't think we should be using Olsen as the criteria for the new keeper at all. The thinking should be how much do we suffer if Martinez is out, and can he challenge Martinez for the 1 shirt in a season or so. If we can't bring in someone like that this window then I don't see what difference bringing in someone slightly better than Olsen will make.

You are taking what I said literally.

Slightly better than Olsen is not what I want.

I want to have someone less terrifying than he is.

We need a better back up keeper than we have.

Yes, I agree we need a better back up, I just don't think it's an easy position to fill, and as the post immediately before yours says, we seem to be prioritising other positions and are going to roll the dice with the keepers. It's risky, but if we have enough quality outfield it should offset the risk the odd time Olsen plays.

I think Martinez is decent but not great, and Olsen is atrocious

I’m pretty sure this position will be sorted soonish..

Martinez is decent, but not great. An interesting opinion on a World Cup winning GK playing for a 7th placed premier league team.

I think he’s probably the best keeper we’ve had since Bosnich and in reality probably the best ever.

Not getting an half decent second GK, is a shocker.

How about Cole Plamer as a late wild card to replace Buendia?

Emery has a couple of blind spots it seems - back up  keeper, nr 9, RB
Make your mind up, is it 2 or 3?
I know Emery is above criticism, and he has banked loads of goodwill, but those 3 holes need filler before 1sept which is now only 2 weeks away

Martinez is decent, but not great.

If Martinez tops out at decent, who on earth are the keepers that are great?

Indeed it’s nonsense. We shouldn’t dismiss the quality or importance of Martinez. He’s a top goalkeeper.

Leeds are looking to sell Meslier before the window closes. Didn't have a great end to last season, conceded 22 goals in 9 games in April, but was decent, I think, before Leeds went to absolute shit.

Lot of potential, but lot of mistakes in Meslier.

Unfortunately centre half, centre forward and right back are more pressing than reserve keeper right now thanks to our horrible luck , but in time we have to get one better than Olsen. I'd genuinely prefer Nyland.

Messier has a very punchable face , he's also not very good in goals. No thanks

Looking for the impossible, any decent goalkeeper will be wanting the number one spot, when we have, probably, the best in the world, apart from a promising youngster who else will be satisfied with playing half a dozen games a year.

We should have a lot of Euro games to offer a good backup keeper this season. It's not the worst no.2 spot going. Kelleher at Liverpool can play the sweeper keeper system Emery likes and was looking for a move earlier in the summer.

Kelleher wanted a move to be #1 somewhere. We can't offer him any more gametime than Liverpool can.

Our former mistake and no 1 Nyland just gone to Sevilla as their back up keeper. Sevilla have Euro games I think. Goes on to show what you can get as back-up keeper for clubs with Euro games these days. I woudnt shift Olsen for Nyland. In fact Olsen aint that bad as second keeper IMO, he has had a mistake too often so far with us but also you can see (I think I do anyway) theres a potential there even in PL. I m much more stressed about lack of links to RB s. Then again Emery said in his presser I think that we would go with a CB there som of the games anyway so some relief there for me.
