David DeGea still looking for a new job. Would he be better than Olsen?

He’s rather suspect with his feet too though.

As opposed to Olsen, who's just suspect as a goalkeeper.

If Olsen was competent with his feet he’d be ok as a number 2….he isn’t so he isn’t

He can't move his feet quick enough. He's not even championship standard.

He’s a decent shot stopper,  seems to stay at home a lot when defending corners and is horrific with his feet.  I’d suggest he is no worse than a lot of number 2’s but we need much better as the decision to start him in the 2 cup ties last season was a lot of the reason we lost both games.

Never want to see him play for us again but doesn’t look like any plans are there to replace him

This has been pointed out before but when you're looking at a backup goalkeeper you don't want the drop off in quality to be too big. But when your #1 is arguably one of the best in the world, it's very difficult to keep that gap small. Anyone of that level is already #1 somewhere, or already back up to a brilliant keeper and wants to be #1.

I'm really interested to see what happens at Arsenal with their keeper situation.

Cole Palmer is making noises about maybe leaving Man City to get more playing time. If he ever does we should be right in there with an offer.

He's not a decent shot stopper, he's not 'decent' at anything. He's below average in all areas of being a goalkeeper.

Unless by shot stopper you mean when the ball just literally hits him without him moving. But even that would rely on him having decent positioning, which he does not.

He wasn't considered good enough for a Championship team, so why we thought he'd be good enough I have no idea.

Clearly not true…you don’t have the club and international career he has had with having no ability.  He isn’t anywhere good enough for what we need but let’s not go OTT…other clubs might be reading this thread :-)

Can't see what Guardiola sees in this fella at all, to be giving him the game time he does. He always looks distinctly ordinary to me. Strangely enough (since what do I know?), I have much the same opinion of that Rico Lewis.

Christ no.

Horrid little oik.

The way he acted during the U21s Euros was disgusting.

Palmer's a bit of a strange one. He's always been very highly rated but I don't think has gone on loan anywhere. At 21, feels like he's missed at least a year or two out on loan at lower leagues. Is it me or does that seem to happen a lot with City players?
He's definitely decent though, as is Rico Lewis

Sorry remind me , what did he do

After he scored, he ran right past the opposition bench rubbing their noses in it & when they reacted & got angry, he ran away like a little coward, leaving his team mates & bench to deal with the mess.

One of his Man C teammates slated him for it.

Don't remember that tbh. I'm willing to give a little leeway due to his age though. Emi isn't above a bit of shithousery and we love him for it.

I think it was against Spain.

Or Portugal.

Or was it the Portugal game where that little shit stamped on Jacob Ramseys foot, breaking it in the process & the ref did nothing?

But, you make a valid point about age.

Im not a fan of Martinez shithousery tbh...

On paper he should be an ideal number 2, but having seen him with my own eyes he's miles off that.
